Hmm. Normally when I do a HHC I'm thrilled with how much I've managed to do, but not today. I'm going to crack on, because the kitchen really needs a bit more attention. What's interesting though is that I'm now back to where I started the 'This house just won't do' major clean last year, and it's absolutely true - once you get it clean it doesn't take anywhere near as long to keep it clean, albeit nowhere near as frequently as I should.

I pulled the microwave out and cleaned around and under it, and pushed it back after wiping down the tiles in that corner. All in all it took about five or six minutes - it was two hours last year. (I will admit the word minging did go through my mind at the time ....)

Forgot to press Post! Anyway, I'm still carrying on.
    Better is good enough.
  • Washing pegged out - only lightweight stuff - but my thinking is 20 mins blowing on the line should hopefully cut the TD time dramatically. Neighbour must think I'm nuts - ho-hum.

Hoovered right through the house. :j Will mop the kitchen and lounge floors now and go into DS's room whilst they are drying and see if I can make any sense of it. Wish me luck :(

I'm still hard at it down there. The lower half of the dresser has been turned out, wiped and and is currently drying while I reorganise the baking stuff and tins. I've got to clear a big shelf elsewhere in the house, so I need more space in the kitchen.

Marathon soup making going on while I clean. I'm doing the curried parsnip first, then borscht, then celeriac. Tomorrow it will be pea, mint and cucumber if I get sick of it all today. In the meantime, I'm taking a HHBreak while I scoff the left over cottage pie from last week and carry on simmering the chickpeas for hummus. Much as I love May, spring and summer, I am really going to miss root vegetables this year because they have been such a massive part of our winter.

    Hi all.

Very best of luck to all who are sitting exams currently or in the near future.

And loads of posi-vibes and (((HUGS))) where needed, esp. for Sunnygirl's friend. I can't begin to imagine how awful that must be.:(

OMG Dusty you are making me feel old now - we didn't even have GCSE's when I was in school. I had to do the plain old O,level GSE's :D I think they brought in GCSE's about two years after I left school.
I took O Levels, as well. At least, I have a certificate that says I did - I don't remember a thing about it, as I was zonked out on Valium at the time.:rotfl:

Natty, congrats on getting the ESA Support Group assessment. It's a real relief, isn't it? I imagine that, like me, you'd far rather be healthy, but if we can't have that, then a common-sense answer to our ESA questionnaire is at least a help.:o

Kitchen's been done as best I can, with the ol' paws playing up - I went to hang a shirt on the A-frame this morning, caught something wrong, and it didn't half make me scream!:( Oh well.... I've had a go with my new infra-sound device and put my splints on, so we'll just plod on regardless.;)

Washing has dried outdoors. Started out with it in the bathroom, then the sun came out....:D I had to rescue it when the rain started, but it was by then dry enough to go in the airing cupboard, hurrah.:T

Mr LW is on late shift today.:( Apparently he also has to clone a database tonight, after 18:00:(:( which is a long and boring task, but he's been told to come home and log in from here and do it, so at least he can eat at a sensible time; and also the task means pressing buttons, then waiting while the system does it's stuff, so he can intersperse a few WiiFit exercises, too.:j

Just had my annual letter from HMRC reminding me I have to do a self-assessment... Deep joy.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
