Just baked purple cakes with lilac icing and multi coloured sprinkles added some raisins to the batter DS2 will have fruit whether he likes it or not ;) OH away to supermarket eventually. I've just remembered that DS2 has his prize tomorrow, a day at the Hilton cooking in the kitchen with the chefs, lunch and use of the pool! Need to look out his swimming stuff and pack it in his bag otherwise I will get a phone call !
Off to square the rest of the kitchen

Hi all, very new to this (not just the thread, but the entire concept of actually cleaning on a daily basis) hoping you/this thread will help keep me motivated until it actually becomes a habit!

Anyway, managed the level one stuff plus a couple of extras so:

    Level One
    Declutter and mop/vacuum floor
    Clear and wipe work surfaces
    Extras
    Empty and wash out bins
    Wipe over the woodwork

    Plus
Walls washed and skirting boards cleaned (I need to count this as separate!)

I thought I'd done more than I had, so the list is a bit sad, but am hoping this idea will help me in the long run... I've no idea how you all seem to be able to do so much - I am amazed!

Kiddies were in bed just after 7, so I've had dinner (and portioned rest up for another time), s&s kitchen, tidied last of toys away and put together my two new obelisks. These are for the clematis I pulled off the fence at the weekend (which, incidentally, hasn't been replaced today as neighbour kept telling me it would be). Just having a cuppa, then I will put my papers away and get my bag ready for tomorrow.

    Then shower and bed!

Does anybody know why on my tax credit award from last year, they told me my payments for this year would reduce? It says they take into account things they can predict like a child turning 16. Mine have dropped by £55 per week, and the only difference is DS will start school during this tax year. But I haven't renewed yet (no pack yet) so they don't know what my childcare costs will be.

I knew it had to go down, I just don't get how they've come up with the figure they have, over a year before my circumstances will change? I suspect it will go down further once I confirm what the nursery fees are from September...

LOL - you and me both ;)

    Welcome

(I save all mine for mad panics... < Valli)

Bossy - Tax Credits are a mystery to me - and I like to have my finger on the pulse of my finances - have been flying blind with these siince their inception.

So I would suggest you put your data in Entitled To and see whta it comes up with.

I assume you're on 25% council tax discount as there is only 1 adult in your household?

Bossy.. Possibly a lower overall income? You can appeal. Maybe they are just assuming childcare will go down once he is at school and the Missy will be turning 3 so will get 15 hours nursery funded. Mine says it will go down in September, but that is because they don't have details for DS2 or DD2 going to college yet.. it might be something quite simple.

last lot of laundry folded ready to go away.. I'll refeed the WMs when I go back in there to make a cuppa shortly.

Mothercare delivery tomorrow.. and hopefully they will take the parcel they should have collected today. I also need to speak to them at Tiddles new school about after school clubs.. looks like it might be 3 nights a week.. choir, cooking and gardening! All good athletic strenuous stuff lol.. Just to give me a big of a break from school runs. If she finishes at 4 I can send OH or one of the others to collect her :D

Evening all! I'm in again - thank you Natty :A

Sounds as though lots of you need a hug so feel free to take one as required xx BD really seems to be doing the rounds :(

I did O levels - the last year before they brought in GCSEs - good luck to all those doing exams at the moment.

I'd appreciate any prayers and vibes for a fellow Guider who collapsed last week. She's back at home now, completely exhausted all the time, and no closer to finding out the cause.

Not sure how much flying I'll achieve this week as I'm travelling to Kent straight from work on Weds for a course on Thursday which will mean I won't be home until late Thurs.

Love and hugs to all xx

Thanks! And yes, Valli, I did sort the council tax. I'm not too worried as I know the renewal will sort it out. It's probably a good thing, not getting the same as last year, as once I do renew it would mean they've overpaid me and I'd end up with 20p for the rest of the year :p :rotfl:

Plus I've booked DS into school holiday club in August (just one week, as we're on hol) so you only pay for what you use, unlike nursery... So my summer bill will be less anyway. And, my mum has managed to give me her holiday money this month, which I'd kind of planned to pay for as I didn't expect her to have it so soon.

So we are not destitute ;)

Special healing vibes for your friend, froddington x

Of my clothes from my wardrobe. Not sure I'll have anything to wear tomorrow.
  • Good evening everyone. Today was not a very productive day, as I was feeling very low and rounded off with having a go at DH tonight despite him taking me out for lunch (poor man at the moment sometimes he just can't do anything right). I am updating my list and then heading to bed in the hope of a better day tomorrow.

Manic Monday ~ Kitchen and Dining room
Clear and clean the work surfaces
Dust the kitchen and dining room for cobwebs
Wipe the top of the kitchen appliances
Sweep and mop the kitchen floor
    Quick hoover round the house
Oven and hob to be scrubbed
    Put Avon books out
Build a suitable enclosure for the chickens
Sort through and tidy the cutlery drawer
Phone the hairdresser regarding appointment for me and the kids
Sign up to 5 new sites in the hope of increasing my online income
    Plant herb seeds
    HHI
Start putting together holiday bags and order anything that is required
Update progress on the £10 a day challenge on this site

Twinkling Tuesday ~ Living Room, Hall & Porch
Clean the skirting boards in the porch, hall and living room
    Quick hoover round the house
Dust the porch, hall and living room for cobwebs
Dust the front door and clean the glass panels
HH declutter in the living room
Dust the furniture in the living room and hall
    Clean the phone
    Clean the fireplace
Wipe light switches, sockets (make sure they are not switched on!!)
Paperwork clearance.. spend 15 minutes minimum sorting through those piles of paper.
Phone the gas company regarding the payment
Clean the inside of the living room windows
Do paid work that is in for today
    Surveys and other daily work
Make a to do list for this week
Catch up with the thread, as not been keeping up with things so far this week

Thanks so much for all the vibes for my friend. I've sent her a card today and hopefully if she doesn't mind me visiting on Friday I'll take her some flowers too. Hugs for your brother and all your family Mrs Moneypenny - think it must be about the worst thing ever to lose a child.

Didn't get that much done in the kitchen today as we ended up at IL's for tea, but I did make a start on the shelving unit in the kitchen. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

    Night all x
