You are doing really well tootoo and very organised with LOs in the house. I can't wait for LO to settle in at nursery so I can take a day off and tidy/ declutter/ clean the house. Might need to take a week off considering the state of it!

last night i made an owl for our c*****mas tree this year. Sorry, I know its probably early some but I don't often get a lot of time for these things.

Tonights dinner is sausage pasta bake from my reduced sausages. I did have to laugh as when I opened the sausages there is only 7 sausages instead of 8 :)

    chores today:
one load of washing to do
hang out in the vague hope it will dry!
    money update
    keep the lo's entertained

Savings now at £100.19 - 10% already. Just need to keep it up!

    Yesterday was a NSD!
very tired today with a poorly girl during the night, so a trip to the park and home will be my limit today.
Spag bol for dinner tonight - I'm going to double meal but also add some lentils and hopefully can then stretch 3 meals of out it :)
did quite a lot of cleaning and sorting yesterday. But i still have to have a huge clear out before christmas comes a we already have far too many toys and not much room. the worst thing is that my girls only seem to play with certain toys so the others seem to be unplayed with.
Think a trip to the charity shop is in order again (I put a full bag and a half out last week for collection).

today should be a LSD - need bread but I think that is it so must restrain at the shops.

    Thank you mouche.
The cold is working its way through the house :(
I did get more sleep last night though :)

Shopping yesterday and dd2 needed more shoes so £26 there.
£15 in the £ shop topping up and a few bits for our holidays. Trying to take as much as possible so we don't spend too much in the village supermarket.
I also brought some small glass jars from there for Christmas gifts ideas. Now im struggling to think if what to do with them! I can't use for preserves as the lid isn't that tight. Maybe I could make a sweetie hamper with them ir fill with bath salts etc?

I've read my way through your diary and it sounds like you're doing well :T

Mrs E and I ended up owing our utility company over £700 after last winter (£1200 total spend over 4 months!)

    Our biggest savings these days:
    • Energy saving light bulbs. We have 35-40 lights - changing these saw our wattage per bulb drop from c. 40W to c. 5W
    • Turn off everything at the walls, no timers left on (bar coffee maker, need that!)
    • Boiler temperature down a little, make sure that boiler is on a timer, not left on
    • Blinds and lined curtains for every window (well, no curtains for bathroom or kitchen)
    • Turn oven off 5 mins before cooking time is done, will stay hot
    • Use pressure cooker or slow cooker to bring down electricity costs
    • Keep open fire for special treat
    • Charge phones and iPods at work ;)

    Hi Edinburgher
    Thank you for the tips.
I've been considering a pressure cooker but they do scare me. I read my mums exploding a few times when I was little and her mopping the beef stew off the ceiling :)
I'm a bit of a stickler now at turning things off and often find myself following dh around and turning things off behind him!

    Today is another NSD.
HM Chilli and wedges for lunch.
Dinner was HM sausage and tomato bake (dad supplied more homegrown tomatoes) and HM apple crumble for pudding.
Three loads of washing out (and half load of hand washing!) most of it dry.

    A new week tomorrow.....
