Thanks Ixia - Gosh I'm tired today! No drinking, but a very late night and little sleep.
Going to enjoy 20 very hyper children at a party later!
To pay off my mortgage by the time I'm 40 would mean £300 odd a month on top I estimate. I could probably raise half of that by cutting back on everything but it'd be tough. i think id rather keep it to 45 and still have a little fun! although we are due to remortgage next year and I may ask to reduce the term and up the min payments.

Spends yesterday on a bunny for my girls.
They are both winter babies so its nice for them to have something mid year
I did however park on the street on the way to the party and save the £2 parking charge - turning into a real penny pincher! I also resisted the urge of a new bag on thr online sale.. I think I need to start putting that money into a pot so I can see the money growing.
Our dd for gas and electricity has doubled! As of Sept.
They didn't up or take any money for the over use at Xmas. The latest bill matched the dd but as there is some due to them for early this year when v cold, they've doubled it.
I did pay a third off straight away. My theory is that hopefully it wilk clear the amount we owe and then we shall hopefully have a little cushion for this winter.MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
OP planned for today. Have a bit of a decision to make, but not quite there yet.
I want to change career but that is going to cost me. So for the moment I'm popping more in the savings to help me with that. If I don't need the money it can go against the mortgage. I'm still stuck between which path to go but I'm trying to rush and make a hasty decision....MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
Good luck with the decision. Sometimes it is worth spending now to benefit later. But it is a lot to weigh up if you don't have the money to gamble with..... All the best.Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
thank you sss
putting the extra pennies into savings for now until I can decide.
OP made though, just a small one but one all the same.MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
Another small OP this morning. Still saving and trying to decide on my next move. Whatever I do will be expensive.......
Still saving pennies where I can. yesterday I made 5 1/2 meals of chilli for the freezer (which must of only cost me £3 for all the ingredients) a batch of scones too. Also have some more apples to make into crumble or pie filling and some tomatoes to make into something. Maybe I'll try a chutney?MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
A quick call to the mortgage company this morning. I thought i'd quickly be able to find out exactly how much we owe as we don't have any online facilities. They couldn't tell me but we very helpful and are writing to me. I should get a statement oct/nov time but it'll be nice to see how much we owe rather than guessing from a very out of date statement.MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260

I have just done another little job. Metre readings so i can see what we've used the last month. £29 electricity and £17.64 gas.
This will rocket with the cold weather though. Anyone have any tips for keeping bills down?MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
Well. A bit of an expensive month so far. New car (not brand new) traded in car, using a lot of my savings and a very small loan. I'm pleased with it. My savings are almost gone, but put to very good use.
My next goal is to save, save and save some more (I'll still make small OP's monthly too).
So groceries are to be minimum. Saving as much on utilities as possible too....MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260 -
another post from me today!
On the house front I've just filled a bag for charity. It's almost full but I've still got a day or two until its collected so I can hopefully fill it and maybe pop out another bag too.
Lunch has been cheap today - I've made a sauce using some of my dads tomatoes, added a little onion and some lentils (and a few herbs/spices) and it was lovely with some spaghetti. I think t cost around 15p for both myself and lo
i've made a start with some selling. all pennies will go back into the savings. I'm hoping next time we are car buying, I'll be able to pay for it fullythats my plan anyway.
as soon as i have a chunk of savings I shall be hitting the mortgage again.MFW.....Apr 33 Aim - Dec 260
