no more op's here. But everyday i'm doing things to help!
i've made several more small payments to that horrid cc which I want rid of, also either going to change our broadband/phone to ask them to match the deal.

i've now also have 20 odd onions planted outside and several garlic. My blackcurrant bush is looking very good again this year (jam to be made soon!). I haven't an awful lot of time with my dd's being young, but I really like growing my own produce. I've also now got lots of herbs growing on my windowsill. I've also tried to set some courgette seeds but they're not doing anything. Maybe I left it too late?

First load of washing has been on the line for 45 mins and washing machine is doing another. sun is shining so hopefully it'll dry :)

No ops but my little steps continue.
Im making a payment a day to the cc so hopefully that will soon go :)
I'm trying to declutter too and will either donate or sell what I can and ill decide whether to put the pennies towards the cc or towards a new more economical car.

In the meantime I am using reusable nappies for dd2 and saving money, but I now have enough and can stop buying. I am also using washable wipes and have a little stash for hands and faces too. I could do with making some more though so that is a job for my never ending list! Its also made me think of other things I could reuse such as face wipes for me instead of cotton wool or wipes that go into the bin :(
Without overwhelming myself I'm going to choose one thing to look into each week - reusable items, new recipes, ideas to cut down in utilities etc.

  • Hiya tootoo - every penny counts in the overpayments! You sound lie you're doing great. I agree on the reusables front - I try not to waste as much as possible. I always use tupperwares instead of sandwich bags and save the charity sacks for bin liners!

Thank you for the support :)
    Still taking baby steps here.
I'm trying to focus on the dreaded credit card. Its now £998 which I'm really pleased with. I don't have a lot of spare cash to use towards this, but I'm trying my best. Some recent sales (e"ay etc) have given me some extra pennies which I used straight towards this....
enjoying the weather and getting all my washing dry :)

a big step made week (i feel), not towards the mortgage but the cc....
i've been saving for a 2015 holiday (i want my girls to be a bit older before flying again etc). i suddenly realised that i could re save this money and pay off a large chunk of the dreaded cc. so ive requested a withdrawal. theres no penalties and ultimately it should mean that i don't have to shift when my 0% ends so it will save me money long term.
there was some money for the girls which was a gift towards the holiday so i've left that there. it would feel wrong using that even if i repaid.
at first i thought id be a huge challenge to pay by the end of 2013. now im hoping to have it paid within a few months!!

on another note i've been being frugal. groceries are costing less and im trying not to waste a thing. my unused bread is now breadcrumbs in the freezer. i also have 6 jars of jam from fruit in my garden. all it cost was a bag of sugar :)

unexpected payment means the credit card has gone!! yippee. I'm waiting for the last op cheque i sent to be put on the account and then it will read £0 :) so pleased about it. I does feel strange though as it was unexpected, but great nonetheless!
