We are not talking about the things you have listed in that.
You said you would only 'grass' someone for drink driving and 'about' nothing else.
I knew a foolish comment would come.
Yours was the foolish comment. How does some perverted loyalty to criminals become more important that duty to wider society?
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.

I would love meter tamperers to be deemed as " criminals ", thats what I think they are. They steal many thousand pounds worth of energy. However the suppliers and the Police deem it to be a civil matter , the Police never get involved with straight meter bypassing, its up to the suppliers how they want to manage the theft. For reasons of economy they are happy just to stop it and get as much money back as possible. The Police will get involved only if cannabis growing is detected, then if theres less than 14 plants involved its a Police caution only. So we are in a situation where the pro cannabis grower can earn a good living continually growing his 14 plants on a 12 week loop, ( for his personal use ), bypass the electric for free energy ( and his own heating ) and never face any threat other than a Police caution. The Daily Mail reckoned they can earn £40 k a year with these figures . My recent next door but one neighbour reckons he has earned a lot more.

I'm not grassing anybody for anything.

Drink drive is about the only time I'll pick up the snitch phone.
So murder and rape are not worse than a drink driver?

If you know about it and keep quiet, you're about as bad as the criminals themselves.

There is no room for interpretation there, your comment is stupid, plain and simple.

    Was it?

A bit of meter tampering compared to that list.

    Don't be daft.

Not in the eyes of the law you're not.

Comparing meter fiddling to the crimes above is ludicrous. The 2 fiddlers (and they certainly are that, not that I'm going to grass them)I'm talking about are both ex-sparks so they know their way around the lec supply.

Its not grassing when houses blow up and set on fire through it.

The 2 fiddlers I referred to are both ex-sparks.

    Seems unlikely in this case.

We are not talking about cannabis growers or travelling circuses tapping into the street lamp.
  • what happens if i rent my property out ,and the people that were there have been tampering with the gas meters , are i,m liable as the owner of the business , any help would be grafetful

So 2 professional thieves are morally less repugnant than 2 clueless thieves?

No you are not liable, in fact its one of the " get-outs " IF they get caught. One I found this year blamed it on the landlord and denied everything.
I would keep an eye on your properties meters if possible. the typical full house cannabis growers present people with a good appearance/ refs to start the rental. then the Vietnamese gardeners take over flooding the whole house top to bottom with plants
