Hi all,
Could you pls advise?
It has been so long since I watched football on TV. But today I read that BT will soon offer a cheaper way to watch football. So I looked it up and found that these days some other companies also offer new ways to watch Premier League, including:
Top Up TV
ESPN
BT (latest)
However, I don’t know about their real content. For example, do they all offer top games?
In your opinion, which is the best service?
My sincere thanks0 -
ESPN won't be offering anything next season. BT will be offering about 38 Premiership matches, but Sky Sports will still be the dominant provider.
There's a separate thread on this subject. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Thank you very much. I look it up in our forum.0

To me, a lot of folk will be forking out for the equivalent of this season's Wigan v Stoke, while SKY will still have 1st pick of the big guns.
Happy to be proved wrong?0 -
Have a look at this thread

BT have apparently got 18 first pick games0 -
There'll be a whole bunch of football fans - I'm not one so guessing a bit
- that will end up paying out a fortune. Particularly pubs etc.
With BT having more top games than ESPN provided, some people won't be able to live with BT having the [presumed] best game every other weekend so end up paying for both services.
This season may have been a minor irritation for them with only the odd one, next season I can see it really annoying some.0 -
As a footy fan that does subscribe to SKY I can say that i wont be going for the BT package. For non BT BB customers I just dont see it as value for money (they only have 1/3 of the games SKY do for example). I pay £7.50 for unlimited BB and dont see that switching to BT will make this any cheaper.
Having said that, I am not a SKY fan boy, simply a subscriber that finds their offering the most suitable for my wants on tv and BB. I do hope that BT stick with it and dont fail like all the others before them as in the long term it may benefit everyone as SKY may be forced to change the way they charge for their sport channels.
For the big games that SKY dont have that i wish to watch I will justgo down the pub :-)

Think there is some misunderstanding about what the channels include.
For English Premier matches - it's 38 matches on BT Sport, 116 on Sky. There is no overlap - a game show on Sky is not shown on BT and vice versa.
Of those, BT has 18 "top picks". Sky has 20 "top picks". BT also has the first game of the season.
BT does NOT have the games that used to be ESPN's. When the rights are sold, there are various packs you can bid on. BT have bought some packs that were formally Sky's, and Sky have bought those that were previously ESPN's. Not that this really matters however - the key info is the 'top pick' split, and the total game numbers.
On top of that is all the other sport they've bought - content on two BT Sport channels and also the ESPN channel (which you could consider as being effectively BT Sport 3).0 -
Just called BT - have signed up for 12 months at £48.70 pcm for:
Line rental
Evening & weekend calls
Infinity BB option 1
Essential TV
Sky Sports 1 & 2
Am also getting a new HD (and HD upgrade) box and latest hub FOC (no delivery charge either) and installation FOC.
I was paying around this before my last deal expired anyway so no harm in seeing how it goes for 12 months and then take it from there!

Unfortunately there isn't a date listed when you can expect it, so I cannot check when it will be available, but there should be updates coming soon.
We are trying to upgrade the whole of the UK by the end of 2013, so hopefully there would be a date available soon.

Shaun: To add BT sports to the Sky Digital Satellite Platform, you need to have an active Sky viewing card number and . Your viewing card number can be found by selecting 'TV Guide' on your remote and then 'settings'.
Shaun: Please don't remove the card while ordering as this will stop us being able to activate BT Sport.
