BT winning Premiership rights next season

Options
Am I right in thinking ESPN won't be televising any Prem games next season and it's best to now cancel ESPN asap? (ie. months notice would take you up to the end of the season).

Also will the BT channel be avaliable on Virgin? If so do we know at what price?

  • ESPN won't have any premiership games next season

Only Sky Sports and BT Sport. BT have not confirmed pricing or how it will be available on other providers
  • Cheers Ahmed.

    Decisions, decisions.
The only reason i have Virgin is to watch football.
Do I cancel ESPN and even Sky Sports now as I do not need Sky Sports over the summer. See what happens with the BT Channel for Virgin and decide then, if they get it, resign up to Sky Sports and BT Sports, if they don't then switch straight to BT....

Do realise that BT have only bought 38 Premiership games, Sky still have the majority (and pick) of the broadcast rights.
It may be that BT agree to Virgin customers having free subscription to BT sport in the same way ESPN was sold on cable. However, it's important to note that neither ESPN nor Setanta before them have managed to make any headway in competition with Sky. I think BT will be trying to get as many customers as possible to sign up direct with them.

At sky we have the pick of the games, espn contract cancelled. ESPN becomes BT sport however there are plans for sky to rent BT sport I believe.

I think you need permission from MSE to post as a Sky representative.
I'd imagine your employer might object to you posting on their behalf as well.

Just like BT already has SKY SPORTS :-)

Murdoch is just a little bit worried as BT pushes back and not just football.

How do you know you have pick of the games when the fixture list isnt even announced yet lol

Because we have the pick of those games when the fixture list is released. & sky would rent BT sport much like ESPN offer it as an additional service.

Okay i'll re post that one for you, Sky have the pick of the games compared to BT Sport.

    Absolute nonsense

Sky does not get to choose which games it wants

Just because you work for sky you dont need to mis-lead people, so lets just see what games BT and Sky get , oh and this is the same Sky that had factually incorrect adverts out about wifi hotspot speeds that were then banned lol

Remember that anyone can post on here (as well as claim to be a Sky employee!)
