But probably the biggest contributing factor is population growing at an exponential rate through mass immigration. However this is always left out of any "report" even though it is the root cause of the problem.

Really?? It's possibly a contributing factor, as are many other things. But the biggest one? The root cause of the problem? I'd be interested to see the evidence to back that assertion up.

There are various contributing factors to this, such as public ignorance abusing A & E by attending for minor illnesses rather than seeing their GP or just drinking a hot toddy when they have a cold.

But probably the biggest contributing factor is population growing at an exponential rate through mass immigration. However this is always left out of any "report" even though it is the root cause of the problem.

    There seem to be a couple of basic options;

*curb the flow of mass immigration
*pump more taxpayer money into the NHS, build more hospitals, employ more staff.

The former seems like a good idea.

The latter I feel would add to our ever increasing black hole.

Hmm - do I detect another 'The White Horse' / 'DecentLivingWage' - ie a poster who is such a zealot in following a caracature of a party line at the expenese of all logic thus effectively making said party line look untenable that the only sensible conclusion is that their actual purpose is to discredit the very party they purport to support.
    I think....

Please explain how suspecting a link between rising population and increased pressure on hospitals is at the expense of all logic.

From an in-depth study of my local A&E department (c3 - 4 visits in 2 years accompanying other people) I concluded that natives on the lash put more pressure on the A&E system than immigrants.

36% of all doctors registered with the GMC are foreign trained and 87 000 of the 660 000 registered nurses are foreign. The NHS would collapse overnight without immigrants. Also they are more willing to work in less popular places- I have seen remote hospitals up in Scotland that have an extremly high percentage of foreign doctors working there as NO British doc can be bothered to live and work there.

Rising population => more working people => more tax paid => more health services supplied

    Problem solved. Next patient please!

I am not anti -immigrant but against our current approach and policy to mass immigration. There is a clear difference between the two but some seem to be "easily" confused.

You probably confused us by stating a while ago that immigrants poo in our parks and eat our swans.
Or your sweeping statement that Romanians and Bulgarians are thieving beggars.
I must admit you have cleaned up your act and language a bit,but it's clear to all it's just a thin layer of veneer. It still smells though.

I think labour screwed up when they negotiated gp's salaries. In the old days you used to have home visits and out of hours service provided by gp's and it was easier to go to gp's than A&E.

Labour gave them contracts where they do far less for more money.

Rather than the gp emergency clinics or your nearest walk in centre?
