The Angler's rest on the Newcastle Road outside Banbridge, for Sunday dinner is just great. Prices reasonable for the quantity.2p or not 2p? That is the question!0

I went to Ginger, off Gt Victoria St, on Saturday. The food was gorgeous. It was pretty expensive at £30 for 3 courses with tea or coffee. I thought it was worth it though.Stercus accidit0

I agree that Ginger makes for a pleasant eating out experience but definitely not reasonably priced.
I am trawling this site for your economical ideas as I have been shocked at prices eating out in Belfast since I moved here (when compared with other cities).
I have had to venture back to the supermarkets and burnt saucepans as dining out every day is no longer an option!
I have eaten in a lot of the places mentioned - I can second Mourne Seafood Bar in Dundrum, Bo Tree Thai near Villa Italia and Apparo in Draperstown were all great and good value but I still think Belfast restaurants overcharge and lose return custom as a result so will still keep a look out for the combo of good food and price.0 -
A few of my favourites. The Mandarin City at Ballyhackamore, The Point at Ballyhackamore, 10 Square at back of the City Hall, ( slow roast duck is the DB's), The Dirty Duck in Hollywood, Bennidicts Shatsbury square, and Papa Johns pizza in Dundonald. I'm feeling hungry now.0

I'm looking for a resturant meal in Belfast for about 20 people, for a birthday for my mum who will be 85yrs. I like the food and price at Four Winds Wine Bar but hate the way the tables are ony for four with a big dangly light between them. Can't have very loud music - anyone got recommendations?0

Lizzie Drakes is really good. Steak is lovely. Mixed grill is fab. They have a special menu 5-around 6 ish.:D0

Another thumbs up for Ratz in Bangor. Been going since it 1st opened in Dufferin Avenue, before moving to its current location of Bingham Street. It is exspensive however ... 4 of us usually total around £180 although that does include drinks.
On Saturday evening though I took the wife out to the "Clock Tower" in Bangor & whilst its food was exspensive also (£19.50 for a fillet steak) it is also bring your own drink  . Food was superb aswell. So I think I'll be going back again, although not this weekend ... given that I'll be in London visitng one of Mr Ramseys restaurants0 -
I ate recently in the new Bank Hotel in Dungannon. Good food, but expensive by my miserly standards.
Have heard lots of good things about Apparo in Draperstown. Looks like that will be my next destination.0 -
I was at Flicks in Yorkgate for a meal with a party of 16. They struggled with the number of diners to be served at once, but the food was really excellent and reasonably priced.
The combo starter for 2 was particularly good and they do a special deal on some nights for 2 main meals and 2 cinema tickets for £17.95, pretty good I think.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0
