  • My FAV Indian in the whole wide world is 'The RAJPUT' on the Lisburn Road In BELFAST:j ....I've been eating here for over 15 years(Gosh that makes me sound old and fat) The decor is dreadful, and the music even worse, the tables are squished together and don't even ask about the toilets, but I've never had a bad meal....EVER !!
The Khyber (Indian) on the Saintfield Road heading towards Carryduff from Belfast is pretty good too, just a bit in the middle of nowhere.

I also love Mexican but my two Favourite restaurants have both closed (Accapulco in Botanic Ave Belfast, and the one in the Oddessey) so if anyone could recommend a MEXICAN in the greater Belfast area, please do.

    I dont like Tapas x

At the minute I am addicted to CHina China in Bangor (an all you can eat Chinese £5.99 at lunch time). other good restaurants in Bangor are Papa Joes and Marine Court

China China is like a school canteen, i used to go there when it was called the dragon palace and it seems to have gone downhill since.
Yes £5.99 all you can eat sounds good, but the food is bland and there isnt a large range other than chicken dishes filled with M.S.G.
So if you are the type of person who needs to eat until you are about to explode then its the place for you.
If on the other hand you go to a restaurant and would like to really taste the food you are eating then i would recommend The crawfordsburn hotel.
  • I like Villa Italia; its always been goos dfor us. Great food service and atmosphere.
Downside is its too popular sometimes!

Good enough for me to pig out at lunch time :)

Been there a few times and to be honest have never been overly impressed .. pleasant but not sensational ..., I would actually prefer the Culloden or Deans but they are somewhat over priced for casual nights out. Having said that I will be on a gastric extravaganza for a couple of weeks in Feb/Mar including one of Gary Rhodes' restaurant :)

Any recommendations for around Ballymena area? I live in the big smoke so am spoilt for choice but seem to be spending an alarming amount of time at boyfriend's house north of Ballymena... aside from Galgorm (done it to death) we have eaten at the U-tree in Ahoghill (slightly too "robust" for my tastes, i prefer 2 or 3 courses with less quantity and more quality) but that's about it... looking for somewhere new round that area or maybe as far as the north coast?

I had Christmas lunch in the King's Head today at Balmoral. I had a first class rib-eye steak, though the starter wasn't great.

I had lunch there recently with my young children and it was pretty good for that. The OH and I had dinner there about a year ago and we were really disappointed. I had a risotto that was stodgy and tasteless. It wasn't cheap either. Has anyone had a more positive experience recently?
