For this reason, the European Commission is considering imposing an EU-wide minimum inclusive cabin baggage allowance. It will probably follow the standard IATA size (56x45x25cm) and a reasonable weight allowance such as 15kg. To be fair to Ryanair, it's not the worst culprit here; Wizz has prompted this action.

I very much hope this silly idea won't become reality. In fact, every airline should adopt Wizz Air's policy, then perhaps it would finally be possible for everyone to store their carry-ons onboard rather than having to pace up and down the the aisle to find room.

They don't have to, just get one that's small enough for every airline. Sometimes people really bend over backward to invent problems that don't exist.

I posted before, I have a case thats the smallest size there is, it wouldnt fit in the bmi baby gauge. I posted a link before that said people were being refunded because the airlines had admitted that some of these gauges were the wrong measurements.

I had flown several times with easyjet, flybe and ryanair with no problems.

Sometimes its not the customers fault, its the airlines.

The Ryanair check in at Bristol is notoriously slow, the queue snakes left and right multiple times before snaking almost out the building, allow 1 hour for bag drop alone. Also they regularly use gate 15&16 to board which can be a good 20 min walk so don't leave it long to board!

Sorry, I have no idea what your post has to do with my post. I didn't say anything about anyone being at fault, I'm simply saying that if you can't be bothered getting a bag for each individual airline, get one that's small enough to fit all. I'm currently using a small Flylite trolley that measures 42 x 28 x 20 cm. That's small enough to go on every airline I use.

The BMI Baby scandal was years ago, with an airline that no longer exists and is an entirely separate issue.

Margaret Thatcher said that 'Any man who finds himself on a bus over the age of 30 can consider himself a failure in life.

what she really meant was 'anyone who finds themselves flying with Ryanair is a failure in life.

I am quite happy to be a failure in life so long as I 've got plenty in the bank.

This is already the case on British Airways and most decent airlines. I never see problems with everyone fitting their cabin baggage into the overhead lockers.

As I've already stated above, that approach doesn't work. One can buy a bag small enough for every airline and then another comes along with an even smaller limit.

Ryanair is indeed like an airborne bus. In fact, many buses are considerably more comfortable and offer a more enjoyable travel experience!

And considerably more expensive, not many buses will take you across Europe for £16 in three hours though.

When's the last time an airline came along that would not allow a 42 x 28 x 20 cm carry-on? As I said, it's simply inventing problems where there are none.
