Ryanair really ought to have its planes manufactured differently

The cabin floor position is absolutely fixed
I see more problems on Ryanair flights than I do on British Airways flights.

I've heard more horror stories from BA

Ryanair really ought to have its planes manufactured differently with a smaller hold and lower floor in the cabin, allowing for taller overhead lockers. I'm not sure whether this would be possible, but it would make sense for Ryanair's business model and then everyone would be happy.
Yes, last Ryanair flight I got there were all sorts of problems getting all the cabin bags stored - they had to take a couple of bags off and put them in the hold. But that was only because they weren't enforcing their own rules - loads of bags were clearly oversized.

Bring back capital punishment for oversize/weight bags, that's what I say.

Ah so the handling agent's staff (they don't work directly for Ryanair) failed to enforce the rules in the hope that they would not delay the flight for which they can get in trouble.

They then hoped that the single member of cabin crew that was at the gate would do it, or even better all the luggage got on-board thus becoming the cabin crew's problem, who would also have to account for any delay!!

    Yep, that's about right

They were weighing bags, but they didn't seem to care about size. And the flight was delayed - because there was no space for all the cabin bags! But at least we didn't have to put up with the fanfare on landing :D

Thank you for your helpful reply. I have been reading, but can't work out because i have baggage to check in will i be charged at desk even if i check in online?

I've measured backpacks for hand luggage and will be certain to weigh case before we leave.

    Thanks again

No. If you have prepaid your hold luggage, checked in online and printed boarding cards, then provided you are within the prepaid weight limit for your hold luggage then it is simply that - A bag drop. They will still want to see your passports though.
Of course, your hand luggage has to be within the specified dimensions and a maximum of 10KG each.

Not a REAL Ryanair flight without it

Why should passengers have to own a multitude of different small cases so that one will satisfy Ryanair, another Easyjet and another Wizz?

They don't have to, just get one that's small enough for every airline. Sometimes people really bend over backward to invent problems that don't exist.
