BAUK Diary Challenge for 2 year DFD

After the mass of support I've had since I posted on here with my woes last week I hope it's ok if I do a diary - would like to bring DFD forward to June 2009 and this is my inspiration.
After posting my SOA I have made some huge cuts in monthly finances thanks to a lot of good advice, I've made some money on Quidco and cut up my credit cards :j
I thought by posting weekly I could keep the momentum going for me to be debt free.
My budget has been set and for the first time sensibly includes train fare, petrol, haircuts, waxing (!!), car tax and so my weekly budget is for "sensible living" and other eventualities. My intention is not to spend my weekly budget just because it's there and to save, save, save towards my debts!
Today my only non-budget expenditure is paying for clothes to be altered, but I have been paid an extra £7 for a professional fee today so that will go towards that! Apart from that I intend today to be 0p!
p.s. desperate to join the £2 club - but where on earth are they!!

Your first challenge is to only post weekly!! I suspect you will be drawn to your diary rather more than that.
I find my diary invaluable, for self motivation - if I have written it down, I feel more likely to stick to it, and for support from the fab people here.
I am sure you will be debt free in no time! Good luck!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good luck BAUK

Ok, I'm back, maybe it won't be a weekly post!!
First of all a shameful admissions, my income protection and life insurance policies totalled a whopping £221.99 per month. I have been snooping around the t'internet and can potentially reduce it to.................£112.13!!!!! A whopping £109.86 :rotfl:
The new pretty, all singing and dancing figure means I have decreasing mortgage insurance, a fixed lump sum (just in case of extras), and income protection for both me and DH!!
Have got to wait for them to be accepted and as soon as they are I will cancel the other little blighters!!
Clearly without all you fab people I would have kept paying an extortionate amount for policies that probably wouldn't even pay out
Am off to find some surveys on quidco and then off for a lovely stress free nights sleep. We have £100 a week spends this week and i really do not think we will need it at all

Well my day started fantastically, opened letter from old B/S and found £100 refund for a mortgage exit fee :j That's extra towards debt repayments this month then!
Discovered also my Insurance Broker should have cancelled two DD's re old Mortgage Protection and Income Protection but he didn't and have been paying £43 per month since Oct'05 unnecessarily - letter on way to him asking for a full refund. I always checked bank DD's but thought that these were part of the policies set up, appears not.
Then took friend to Hospital (has terminal cancer), she has been stressed as she only had policies that paid out on death and was worried she would lose her house. Managed to filter through all her stuff at home and made a few phone calls, and she has a policy that pays her mortgage and a lump sum on diagnosis of Critical Illness :j She will have her mortgage paid off pronto and a nice sum in a high interest bank account and be able to enjoy what time she has left.
Spent £1.80 today, on trashy newspapers to gossip over and two bottles of water. Normally though we go and treat ourselves to lunch but I made us lunch to eat at home - see I'm learning
Tomorrow is most definately a 0p day - packed lunch already made, weekly train ticket already bought - I'm on a roll :rotfl: and sold a book on Amazon.
Only !!!!!! is........still not found a £2 coin :mad:0 -

Another good day today - spent £2.17 but that was on 2 packs of butter and chewing gum! Kids pestering for desserts so I made some cakes
Not including the chewing gum on my unnecessary as they were necessary, had garlic breath and couldn't risk knocking my colleagues out with my breath
My other fantastic piece of news is, last week me and a colleage e-mailed The F Word asking the god that is Gordon Ramsay to come and show us how to cook in our minute work kitchen, and today a researcher rang and said they would like to put our application to the panel for the next series :rotfl: :j :rotfl:
Woohooooooooooooooo
Am just so pleased with myself, I haven't visited the bank since Sunday and still have about £9 left in my purse. DH wanted to go out Friday night but I arranged for friends to come here for drinks and snacks instead and BYO.
Going to Aldis Friday morning to get our drink in as part of weekly shop so hopefully a cheap weekend.0
