So, here we are 8 months in and no offers....

I've probably had about 10 viewers or thereabouts. While I'm sticking to my plan to not look at any properties until mine is sold, I'm starting to get a wee bit impatient. It feels like my life's on hold until the house sells or I take it off the market. I know this isn't a very active time of the year in terms of people looking for houses but feel like I want to do something pro-active to move things along. No idea what that will be though.....:o

    How frustrating for you missE!

At least you are being sensible though and not looking for anything else while you sell.

We've just put ours on the market over a week ago - we're very local to you and in a similar Ex LA property.

Our street is mostly 2 beds with a 3 bed rarely coming up for sale (the last sale was 7 years ago when we bought ours).

Our EA is optimistic we can get a good price based on a similar 2 bed that sold just along the road from up which needed a lot of work and achieved full asking price.

That said, although its early days, we've not had a single viewer or enquiry which considering this other property apparently had 10 viewings in 6 weeks, does concern me.

Nothing to do though than sit it out and wait!

I hope your buyer comes along soon!
  • Well, it's been a long time coming but finally accepted an offer on my house today :j

In the end, I dropped the price to O/O £85000 and accepted £85000 - quite a bit less than I was hoping for but there's a story....

I started a new job in London a few months ago so was paying mortgage and bills on a house I'm not spending time in. When I did the sums, it seemed the reduced price was balanced by it potentially sitting on the market for another 15 months!

So, my solicitor accepted the offer today - apparently missives will be signed in the next few weeks with an entry date of 31st October. Back to the diary updates :)
