Arghh I've lost my Halifax Rewards accounts, 14th April setup must have been correct

It doesn't say the notice period couldn't start before 1 May.
That's certainly how I read this:We’re making some changes to your Halifax bank account terms and conditions (including the Rewards payments, interest and account fees leaflet). The changes will take effect from1st May 2013
sounds as if someone at Haifax needs to go on a contract law course - if this is what they are relying on.
As I say, I have only had the one Reward account and will wait until next month before raising this but am confident over the legal position.
In the meantime, I assume these changes will have no impact on the Clarity Reward card.. [which they shoudn't]

Anyone who has had their account downgraded but meets the new criteria albeit late can apply over the phone again - it takes about 15 minutes0

I have letters about the changes and also screen shots taken from when I logged in online and read info about the changes.
Not once was the 14th ever mentioned. I hope the Halifax are going to be very careful about whose accounts they change otherwise they will have complaints fired at them asap.I have no idea. My OH got 3 too (we have 3 reward each and 1 joint current) his letters were identical to mine.
Rubbish!!!!!
This is the letter they sent!0 -

Halifax appear to have sent different versions of the letter to different customers. Not all of them may have mentioned the 14 April.
In my case, I've been overseas since January so have only seen the .pdf which covers the T&C - no reference to the 14 April there..

The 14th of April has not been in their Notice Of Variation and there is no sign of this date in their T&Cs either.
They probably just tried to be helpful and tell people that if they haven't got their DDs in the pipeline by April 14th, they'd risk not having the DD's registered with Halifax by May 1.
There is no way they can downgrade accounts with reference to a date in a letter that only some of their customers got, and which isn't mentioned in the legal material for their accounts.
May 1 is the only date which has any legal relevance.0 -

I got no letter at all, not to talk about one mentioning an irrelevant date. I have 2 Reward Accounts.0 -

RCACust1 was sent to new customers
I had RCACust2 for my main bills account (already met the criteria in full).
The letters for my other 3 Reward accounts got the RCACust5 reference.
Some other posters reported getting RCACust6 letters.
In searching for the above, I've also seen further references to Bank of Scotland accounts. These letters carried at least two different references; RCACust18 and RCACust20.
So that's (at least) 6 different letters and some account holders didn't even get any letters.
Like I said earlier, it's a glitch...a very unfortunate and costly glitch for those with more than (the now max allowable) one account.0 -
My partner and I both have reward accounts with BOS. I received RCAcust 20 and he received RCAcust18. He was already meeting the new rules, I wasn't. i have the letters infront of me now,There is no mention of any date other than 1st May in either letter. But also, which I think must be the difference with Halifax, no mention of being down graded. It states you will not receive the reward in any month the new criteria are not met, but it doesn't say you will be down graded.
I have to say I was a bit annoyed by these new rules about 2 direct debits. At the time of receiving these letters this reward account was genuinely my main (only!) Current account but I only had one direct debit going out monthly. It wasn't too much hassle though to switch one of the household bills from my partners account.
Interested to see what happens with those who have been down graded though, from the info in this thread it definitely looks like the t&c have been broken with no 2 months notice given.0
