Collecting in store and having it delivered are the same thing just the courier company deliver it to the store rather than your home.
I was surprised by this when I ordered an Ironing board, which was all wrapped up with he couriers label on it. I am surprised as I do not see how it saves money, I have always assumed it saved money by not using a courier and using a companies internal logistics distribution, that is they chuck it in a cage being delivered to that store and transport it themselves.
Same with the Nook I ordered last week.
I still have one on order deliver to store, no cancellation yet.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
Ref US vs UK f/w.
It should just be a matter of flashing the UK f/w on it.
Do a reset/clear and install the 1.2 f/w image from the B&N site. It will include instructions on installing it there.
NB 1.21 is US ONLY.Registered Linux user #497422 :beer:0 -

Er the link doesn't work.
I did find the file nook_1_2_update.zip from I think the UK site - is this the right file?
I take it that the new update on 1st June won't auto fix this US/UK issue?

During set up do you have to connect to a Wi Fi network?
Is it not possible to complete registration whilst the nook is connected to the internet via the USB cable (to the PC)?0 -
Don't think so 'studboy' As it goes to b&n site store on wifi to register. When pugged in its more like accessing an external hard drive.
If you don't have wifi you can use it for free at many places such as Debenhams and McDonald's.Relax, Breathe, Love 2014 Challenges:Cross Stitch Cafe Challenger 23. Frugal Living Challenger. No buying cleaning products. I used MSE advice to reduce my car insurance from 550 to 325!! & paid it off in full!!!0 -

After weeks of trying to get a Nook online, and having an order with Very on the 4th, that I'm still waiting for, I just bought 2 from my local Sainsburys. Why on earth I didn't try looking earlier I don't know, I mean I bloody well work there . Result as 15% staff discount atm as well. Just need to figure out how to work them now :j.
Editing to add, this was in B'wade, Beds, if anyone around that area is still after one. There were a couple left after I bought mine.0
