Thought it was a long shot but I'm just been to Sainsbury's store.
Got the last one off their shelf - £29.99 same as online.
    I'm happy.

No, they're not being discontinued. Or at least this model might be I s'pose but it's one of their most successful ones so I can't see why.

And they have several other Nook models too, all using the same e-book format. E-readers are getting extremely popular and the Nooks review very well so there's no reason to be suspicious of one, as far as I can tell. There should be no problem with buying books for them.

The low price is just a promotional price linked to the Get Reading campaign (http://uk.nook.com/event/get-reading).

Edited to add - but there's no 'need' to buy one!

Best deal around seems to be at John Lewis, £29 with a free 2 year guarantee. Free click and collect or £3 delivery.

Duragadget.com do a couple of different covers for nook readers, when you go to site type in nook in search bar as they just show kindle covers. paid £11.99 for a cover with stand very pleased with quality free post and took about 5 days to arrive after ordering
