Anyone looking for a cheap cover for their Nook, I have just bought this neoprene cover on eBay for £1.99., with free delivery. Looks OK.

From a complete Technophobe. I have downloaded 3 library books, I can read them OK on my laptop but after I have transferred them to my Nook I can't get past the cover. I get a message saying Error Dialogue User not activated.

My guess is I haven't done something correctly but I would appreciate it if someone could explain in simple words what I could be doing wrong.

I will be going out but I'll be back later.

You will need to "authorise" it using the Adobe s/w. Don't know what it is called as it doesn't work on Linux.

You need to install the Adobe Digital Editions http://www.adobe.com/uk/products/digital-editions/download.html

and activate your user account. If you've got it installed already, then right click on the book and select Authorize device

I got one of these yesterday from the 99p shop, so look there first. I have ordered a leather one from the USA, but this will do until it arrives.

The plug in 'breaks' (for want of a better word) the DRM aspect so the books are no longer tied to one particular ereader and can be read on any. (Wont work on rented books.)

If you have any books already listed in Calibre, remove them first, you need an 'empty' Calibre before you add the plug in.

I promise you it looks worse than it is and is simple to do. Once the plug in is loaded you can then add books to Calibre, click on one to convert from Mobi to Epub and then you can put it on your Nook.

I downloaded 'Kindle for PC' http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/feature.html?ie=UTF8&docId=1000423913 and I download Kindle books to it and not to my Kindle now. That way I can choose whether to still put them on my Kindle or convert them in Calibre and put them on my Nook.

Can you post a direct link to the plug-in please, I tried finding it through Apprentice Alf's blog but got totally lost!
    Thanks in anticipation.

If anyone is interested in a waterproof case, I just got one of these off ebay. Been using one the same for past couple of years on my Sony, needed to replace it as the top seal was split on the old one.
Great for reading by the pool/in the bath etc.

It is in there! Check again. We are not supposed to post the link for this as we may get our fingers slapped! :D
  • Is anyone else experiencing delays with Very? My original delivery date was on the 03.05.13, they then delayed that by a week and now they are saying it their estimated delivery will be up to the 31.05.13
