How do you charge them if you don't buy a charger?

    I am thick...:o

You plug it in to your computer/laptop via usb. :)

Or use a compatible charger from another device - it's just a usb charging lead so you may have a mains plug for it already (from your mobile, tablet etc). U (in usb) is for Universal!

How extremely clever, I didn't realize that a computer could also be a charger:)

I did the Very thing with £15 off and cash back to boot, cost around £15 inc del. had to open a credit account and they threw £1000 at me to spend. I'm shutting that down asap! Thanks for the tips everyone. Nice bday pressie for the mother in-law! :D

    Try the info here...

    http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/the-secret-nook-simple-touch-web-browser.html

But note that it is a very convoluted and fiddly route and there is no short cut! And even when you get there it's not a good browser - but maybe sometimes useful.

You can't get rid of the large text saying settings and Social either, so you only get part of the screen.

The only alternative (afaik) is to 'root' your nook - instructions for that (not recommended unless you are very confident) here:

Picked one up from Argos today, for my son, and managed to get one for my sister from PC World. So excited!
