Anyone know where's cheap for the wall charger head? Bit disappointed it didn't come with a wall charger.

Lots of wall chargers at about 99p on ebay if you don't mind ordering from China.

But do you need one? It should only need charging every few weeks (unless you use the wireless link a lot by downloading loads of books and/or using the browser a lot) and you can use your computer to charge it if you don't have a charger already.

But, in general terms, it's surely good that it doesn't come with a charger? Now that many/most phones, e-readers, tablets etc come with the same usb charging cable we're finally getting to a situation where houses aren't cluttered up with loadsa chargers.

We have three interchangeable usb plug in chargers shared between 3 smart phones, 2 kindles and now a Nook - which is plenty as far as we're concerned. Plus we can charge on the computers or with the 2 car adapters we have - so I'm actually pleased that they didn't send another with the Nook.

I just wish the two old nokia phones we have used the same charger units too. The fewer chargers the better I reckon.

Thanks everyone, it was the initial charge I wanted it for, don't have a p.c as it came uncharged, my ipad charger is 10W wasn't sure if it would be ok or not?

    Thanks for posting.
Just placed order with Currys this morning for home delivery (and cancelled Blackwell's order because after 3 days of processing, they just told me my payment had been declined.)

I already have a Kindle, but want to use Nook to access library books,
GC: £40 a week. Sticking to my budget, but never remembering to post in the relevant thread.
Probably buying toiletries that I don't need, as I can't resist a "bargain."

    This is on wiki:

The file table on the Nook is locked, meaning that external programs such as Calibre cannot be used to automatically organize uploaded files. All organization must be undertaken on the device itself, one book at a time.

Could someone confirm if this is true? Thanks
I was checking this, as I use Calibre all time.
You need to create a "plug board" thinggy in Calibre and then it will save your books to the device organised like
    Author Series - series# - title

See here, you also need to set the device as a Nook Colour as the settings are different.

More than enough, most cheap charges will be <5W.

Most/all? (portable) devices now have to come with microusb chargers due to an EU ruling a few years ago. Called for standardisation so we don't need 7 different chargers for different items.

A bit late joining the party but just ordered one from Currys after my Mum returned from holiday and complained that the Kindle Fire I bought her for Christmas couldn't be read in the sun.

Toying with the idea of another one for Dad...not sure if I can get away with asking them to share seen as it'll only be used on holidays!!

It may be a bit miserable asking them to share, for this price though :D

Some of you are asking about chargers for the Nook. I have just ordered this to compliment my new Nook Ereader
