I renewed today and was told not to call before the 20th June (6wks).

This year the call was very quick and they didn't even ask to confirm how much my childcare charges were!

However two weeks ago they called my child's nursery to verify my childcare charges, so they all ready know they are paying me the correct amount.

2 years ago I had a review which they needed childcare invoices, P60s, payslips, utility bills, self employment invoices and bank statements.

If you are single they could be checking if you are financially linked to anyone else as they do credit check your address.

Get prepared with your paperwork just in case they ask.
    Mortgage Feb 2015 £178,500 END 2043!!

    MFW 2015 £100 /£1000

Watch this space, my MF end date will tumble!!
  • I think everyone's should be checked anyway. I don't think it's fair some told 6 weeks some told 8. Just wish they'd hurry and ask for the info. Last year some renewals took 12 weeks.

Why tell some 4 weeks some 6 and some 8.

    Should tell everyone 8 weeks!!

Anywhere from tomorrows post to 26th June. I thought mine was going to be June as that was what happened last year, but it came this morning dated from 30th April so took 10 days. Renewal done by phone and told not to ring until 20th June if not heard anything. The chap I spoke with said that is the worst case timescale and that most cases will get their awards in 2-3 weeks if they are simple renewals. Those where Childcare or self employment could take a little longer but that is to be expected.

I received my pack on friday - the leaflet that is enclosed with it says that they aim to deal with the renewal within 8 weeks - does it say that in everyone's leaflet and then when you phone it may be 6 weeks. I don't have child care so wondering why mine says 8 weeks.

They told me 8 weeks when i rang and not to ring. I don't know what it said in the letter.

I've not heard yet its been two weeks. Normally It renewed in a week.
    Last year took 3 weeks.

I've been told 8 weeks friends 4 and 6 so depends who deals with your renewal or what process it goes through.

I guess before mines been automatic but thus year I am probably been checked.

We rang almost 4 weeks ago, we're supposed to be due a big lump sum payment as we grossly overestimated our 12/13 income (self employed and stupidly optimistic) anyway we've not heard anything at all, our weekly payments have increased slightly but that's it. We went through the 'childcare investigation' a few months ago so they know there's nothing untoward going on there and we can prove our pathetic income with our tax return but I guess they will drag it out anyway.
There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out.
  • Has anyone heard yet? I have today, postie has just delivered my final award for 12/13 and my new award for 13/14, no one-off payment as its been processed manually but hey ho at least its done. Three weeks today I renewed, better than the 3 months in took in 2011!
  • Not heard heard mines 3 weeks monday.
But i was told 8 weeks.
