    I'm greedy... I have 6 cats.. 2 on purpose and 4 rescues.. 4 B&W, 1 back and 1 torty. They don't have a brain between them.

1 child decluttered so just down to 4

Tomato seeds picked off my f10key... I don't even eat tomatoes!

OH busying today.. :D A night out seems to have cured some of his miseries.. off to see Star Trek next, in 4 weeks .. though there is something a bit untoward about Sylar being Spock. If you are not a Marvel nerd I recommend going to see Ironman 3.

Can't come to my house then Bonnie, we have 4 :) We did have 5 but one moved next door when we got the dog, which was strange really considering she was raised with a dog before she lived with us
Ah, but she was raised with that particular dog, and probably no other dog is the same as that one to her.:o

I've found a website that is appealing for dog-free households which are experienced collie owners to act as fosterers. They don't have to be cat-free. Small black bitey cat is missing Dog and keeps sniffing around her places although I did ensure he saw her after the event, so he knows she died.

As I've worked them and had them as pets on and off for forty years so I think I'll qualify and they pay all the costs - everything. Food, transport, vets bills, the lot.

I am so tempted. Commonsense dictates that I need to allow a little time. Please can Flyladies say the things I need to be told to stop me rushing into this. Firstly, does anyone know how quickly Home Inspections take before fostering can start? If it's months, then I need to get the ball rolling now, but if it is a couple of weeks I think I should let it lie a bit longer.
HB if it's any help, my inspection before becoming a dog-sitter was very swift - within a few days. It probably varies depending on the organisation involved, though.

Think hard about doing it - you know you can't ever replace Dog, but you can fill the collie-shaped hole in your life; again, I don't know if it'll be of help, but I find with dog-sitting, it's easier to part with them, knowing they're off back to their loving owners, iyswim. Is the fostering long-term? Or is it just for a while, til a good permanent home is found for the dogs? Because imho those are two totally different scenarios, the first might have you getting very attached to the dog, and heartbroken when he/she had to go; the second would more likely have you happily waving him/her off to their lovely new life with a permanent owner. Just my twopennyworth, my friend.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon all

Mainly washing, taxiing and pottering today.

2x washes on the lie, one in the machine, I'd like to get another done if I can.

DS2 has put my new IKE@ garden table together and I'm very pleased with it. Time for a cuppa and to clear up the kitchen then watering and repotting.

Another one here who is allergic to cats, I just take an antihistamine when I know I'm visiting somewhere that has them. They always seem to want to sit with me too!

HoneyBear: I think the fostering sounds a lovely idea, but some good points raised by LW to think about.

Flying: I have actually cut the grass again. Just about to do some moving stuff around with DH. I am not practising the piano enough because it's upstairs so its coming down to the LR. Yay.

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine, I had a lovely walk with the dogs earlier although SickDog did insist on a rest halfway. I actually needed it at the stage too, didn't realise how warm it was.

I guess she has a thing for staffs then ;) She was raised with a female blue staff and we got her when we had our bridle staff "Max" and she was fine with him, slept on his blanket with him and everything :) She just doesn't like our border mix "Penny", none of the cats do :o

Good afternoon everyone. I have not got much flying done this week as dd was taken into hospital on Tuesday morning and didn't get home till Friday night therefore I have not been at home all week. It turns out that she had parainfluenza which caused her asthma to flare up but she is now on the mend.

I spent yesterday catching up with some of the post that came this week and sorting through my to do lists that I had planned for the week.

I am not long out of bed, as I think I have pulled a muscle with my coughing, its either that or baby has its foot on my ribs.

    My plans for this afternoon

Do some of the washing, I think it will take me all week to catch up with this two loads hanging on the airer/radiators and another load in the wm

Sort to do lists and organise diary for next week DONE

Sort through the rest of the post that came this week and make a note of anything that needs to be dealt with Work in Progress

Sort Mr A delivery - scan and put away - submit the information onlineDONE

Do some course work - I have a bit of a backlog that I need to try and catch up with so I am aiming to do a couple of hours

Family dvd evening (in the house) with popcorn, crisps and hot dogs (dinner sorted) DONE

Write up some recipes that I am going to try this week and make a list of any ingredients that I have forgotten to ordered so that I can get them the first time that I am in town. Work in Progress

Give my mum a phone to let her know how dd is doing DONE

We had Sunday lunch in the garden. My neck feels burnt  I've made the kids come inside for an hour or so. They are not impressed. We've sown a few more seeds, loads of washing and moved toys back into conservatory. It's lovely out here. If I can find a new rug for the living room, I'll move the LR one out here too...

Had a bit of a sort in kitchen too, removed some junk...

ironman3 was good yesterday -DD3 had a stash of mocs so it wasnt as expensive as i thought it would be. we went for the 2d showing as 3D was £11.50 each!! and 7 of us went.
DD2 went on a zombie thing in the city centre last night, hes still in bed but cant wait to find out how that went apparently some people were infected and turned into zombies other were set challenges which they had to complete while stayed safe. wonder what on earth the people emerging from night clubs made of t all LOL

been carboot this morning, bought wool and cross stitch stuff which i said i was cutting down on but DH and DD2 bought loads of dvds so more of them to watch.

we used to have a rescue cat (for about 12 years) but old age caught up with him about 18months ago
we just have a tortoise, a mouse and a fish now.

    hope all are well
    hugs where needed
