Car parking charge notice cumbria

Hi,
I was parked on a private car park in carlisle last night and i was using my partners car, i didnt realise that the clock was set wrong in the car and thought i was past the 9pm ticket time.
When i got back to the car i had a notice placed on the window.
The car park in question is a one on botchergate, the notice has CAR PARKING MANAGEMENT (CUMBRIA) on the top with an address for PCN parking services underneath and on the bottom of it it has details of PCN being a trading style of Roxburghe ltd and details for northern europarks.
The fine is 47 pounds if paid within 10 days or 95 if paid after, which i think is a tad excessive for the time scale, is there any thing i can do.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

Some one else said that but im worried about the implications of doing so, they can get my partners details from the DVLA and add on costs of debt recovery which theyll just make astronomical.0

After a while they get desperate and the amount asked for starts to go down, which is odd, if they really have suffered a genuine loss.
Eventually, the discount reaches 100%, as they give up on you and concentrate on a fresh victim. If you fold it in half, will an Audi A4 fit in a Citroen C5?

Correct, ignore it, they cannot enforce it.
Here is an example. I send you a bill for £1000. Would you pay it? Of course not, you haven't any reason to.
Exactly the same for this silly charge.0 -
It isn't a fine, it is a penalty charge or an invoice.cumbriaman wrote: ».The fine is 47 pounds if paid within 10 days or 95 if paid after, which i think is a tad excessive for the time scale, is there any thing i can do.

It goes down to £0.00 if you ignore it, which is what you should do.
You will get a few more threatening letters. Ignore them all as they will soon stop when they realise you are not going to let them mug you.
Don't reply, don't respond, don't pay and don't worry.

Of course, you could ignore the fine and clear your conscience by revisiting the car park and put some money in the machine equal to what you would have paid had you used the land correctly in the first place.0

Car Parking Management (Cumbria) don't appear on the BPA AOS list, so there is no way they can get your details from the DVLA - So ignoring them is normally best.
However, Roxburghe are AOS members, so they may be able to identify you.
You would be best to repost in the Parking Forum for most up to date advice on what to do.0
