    Debt-free and Proud!
Thank you Aunty Ruby. I am running out of decent things to sell to be honest. In years gone by I eb*yed as much as i do now really, however the crap sold was soon replaced by other stuff i didnt really need. Now though, i'm selling and not replacing the "want" items, only buying things I "need" so i'm going to reach a dead-end soon as the surplus dwindles. Thats a good thing really i suppose as i'm wasting less money!

Talking of money today was a SFD :) and i got £20 refunded for some sunglasses i ordered which were incorrect. Basically i'm slightly short-sighted and only really need my glasses for driving so i refuse to pay £££. I use a website where prescription glasses are only £6! I added a tint to make them sunglasses taking the total to £20, however when the glasses arrived the tint wasnt dark enough. I queried this and they refunded me :) and let me keep the "incorrect" sunglasses which will be absolutely fine as just glasses! :):)

I'm so pleased with myself. I was tempted by the body shop offer on martin's weekly email, put the goods in the basket, got to checkout then cancelled it :-) I would never have done that in the past. I want to keep today as another SFD!!

    My thought process

*I must go on and post about my shopping*

    *reads*

*OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO there is a body shop offer????????????????????????????????????????????*

    * runs off to shop*

I think I will need to come back in June July and August at least before this sinks in properly.............
    Nevertheless she persisted.

What a day.... My mum took my car out and it broke down. AA advised it needed a new battery and that cost me £50. Then, when I was putting my dinner in the oven this evening I missed the shelf and the whole lot fell out of the oven, all over the door with gravy running down into the drawer which the baking tins live in so I had to clean the inside and the drawer and underneath the oven!!

    New totals below

    Slimming world £9.90/£20
    Food £68.34/£100
    Outings £53.70/£100
    Anti Virus £20/£20
    General spends £73.90/£30
    Petrol £30/£50
    NSD 1/22

I still hope to stay within budget, but I will have to re-assess!!

    Tomorrow is another day!

    SPC10 #125 - £851.81

  • hugs to 32b3in2013...you sound like you need it - what a day!

Really impressed by Aunty Ruby. That's the DFW way...wish I had your temptation-resistance levels.

However, not all is lost - today was a SFD! My colleague has decided he now does want to go to his own leaving drinks tomorrow night (I manage him so have to go), which adds to work's calendar of 3 events on consecutive nights (this is where the DEATH STARE would come in handy), I'll now be taking myself home on Friday and staying away from my colleague's birthday drinks. Don't people know that I'm trying to save money!

Hi all, hope you have been blessed with peeks of sunshine!

Stationaryspender the recipe I use is a nigella one from her fast food book with butterscotch 'morsels' but I just bash up fair trade dark chocolate for us. It's great as muffins and a loaf and even freezes well. If you can't find it will dig out and type it up. I just leave out the egg and add a tiny bit more oil. Hope that's helpful?

Not much to report here, catch you soon!
Happiness is wanting what you have...
  • Thanks so much AngelPye! My sister is a big fan of Nigella's and most certainly will have the book, so I might be cheeky and ask her to make me a couple!
I've never thought of using a muffin recipe to make a loaf - what a good idea. Will try that out this weekend.
    Cheers again
