  • Massive hugs to Mrs Toast Thinking of you during this difficult time.

Spend day today as renewed passport & had a lovely dinner with my sister.
Am mighty envious of the garden chat on here as live in a flat, but spent Sunday (after recovering from night before) with my sister buying plants for her garden, so maybe I can take inspiration from all of you to help with her veggie plot.
Angelpye I'm allergic to eggs so your banana & caramel muffins sound delish! Where could I get the receipe from?

Oh don't go Abundant, we love you here :) If you have enough money to last the rest of the month, why not draw a line in the quicksand that we've all been caught in at some point, and start again from tomorrow with your new, revised budgets. If you've overspent, you'll need to stick with us more than ever rather than trying to go it alone.

Abundant we need to have a chat.... I agree wholeheartedly with Siouxsie on this one! You cannot throw in the towel when it comes to debts so sticking with us through thick and thin is your only option. It means a rejig of what you have left, if one budget is thrown to the wind and another takes it's place then so be it but YOU SHALL NOT LEAVE!...:rotfl:

We like you here and I for one have noticed and missed your absence so I won't let you go easily...however there is a :naughty::naughty::naughty: for the credit card use and resultant mindset... but you have goals for a reason, stick with them, dust yourself off and give us your figures please....

    Onwards to the Emerald City!!!

Please can I have lots of hugs & prayers. I rang my Gran last night and found out that my step-Grandad hasn't much time left :(. He's been in hospital for a while so was expected but still sad. I can't get over there until the bank holiday weekend so hope he'll be ok until then.

Mrs Toast how are you? With bub in the oven this is probably stress that you should not have to deal with. Everyone is thinking about you and sending you loves and hugs. You are in my prayers for sure.... I really hope your Grandad stays with us so you can see him that one last time.. Let us know you are ok...

    Well I've been completely rubbish!!

Ive had a grand total of 4 SFDs so far :( however I'm going to pat myself on the back for at least being on top of things financially this month!!

I'm having to retrain the hubby to do this too (which is much harder than just doing it myself!!).

I've had some great weekly shops (halved) by following a Girl Called Jacks's blog (I love her!).

And I feel more in control than I have done in years!!!

Next month i will go going for it!!

JayneTay - I have been riggidly monitoring my food stocks because of Jack. I have listed everything like a loon and refuse to go to the shops again now until everything is gone - well done you for being on top of financial things. Thats the aim of the game!!!

    Debt-free and Proud!
    HI All,

Gonna be another little spend day, need to buy some toiletries and want to buy some hair dye (though new style is hiding the greys at the mo) It's also a good excuse to get out of the office at lunchtime.

Abundant, even though you feel you've lost your way this month, you can still hang around and support us all. It will help you keep focussed too and in a DFW mindset.

Must confess I've set my heating too to come on for 3.5hrs a day, mainly to get washing dry.

    Hi everyone,

Thank you so much for all the hugs, it meant a lot. I spoke to my Gran last night and she's trying to get my step-Grandad back home with help. Apparently it's more like a couple of months rather than a couple of weeks so am planning on going up bank holiday weekend.

Kat, it definitely is stress that I could do without but I had the some stress when I was pregnant with DS. My Nana died when I was 6 months pregnant and then my Grandpa died when DS was 2 months old. Definitely not having anymore children, don't want my last grandparent passing away too.

I've had another SFD today :jand am taking Kat's advice by using whats in the pantry. Tuna fish cakes for tea tonight which hopefully should be nice. Don't think I need to buy anything tomorrow but may take DS to the play barn as we haven't been for a while. I've also had a rethink about savings, debt repayments and living. As all our debts are interest free until at least next September we've decided to concentrate on savings and doing up the house instead. Our debt repayments will be enough that they'll all be paid before the interest free ends and we'll also be repaying the mortgage instead of interest free. I think this will be better for our family as we'll be able to live how we want and improve the house so we can sell it in the next few years. Quite excited about getting the bathroom done as it's so small and badly done.

Anyway, thanks again for all the well wishes. Hope everyone's stayed as dry as they can today.

Hi everyone, another SFD for me today. Ended up having veg soup for dinner last night so orzo tonight...I keep putting off using it for some reason.

Abundant - we enjoy reading your posts so please rejoin :-)

LAGL - my heating has gone back on this week in the evenings. It's so cold here. It snowed on Monday morning and was 3.5 degrees when I headed to work. Today we've had hailstones, rain, thunder and lightning.

Jonesy - that's an amazing amount to make this month. I think I'll start with music magpie, amazon trade-in and gumtree. *bay is great but a faff uploading, wrapping and posting. But it does declutter, which I was so good at in the winter months but less so now.

Kat - I don't think globe artichokes are difficult to grow but can't speak personally as I haven't even bought the seeds yet :) If you pick salad leaves that are cut and come again so you can tear them off and they will regrow.

I've a carrot cake in the oven for my DF's 50th celebration at work tomorrow. The smell is heavenly but I should get on with making dinner. DS2 has been offered a full-time job from now until he starts college in September, sooo pleased for him. I had an interesting conversation with a colleague yesterday who told me that everyone would be happier if they had loads of money. I disagreed completely, won't go into it but I had to hold my tongue (we are in an open plan environment!). Then I read your quote tonight Bouncyminky and thought it was exactly what I was trying to say yesterday - thank you for posting it :)

Hope you all have a good night, see you tomorrow!
