Only joined money saving expert after stumbling across it work this week I have been with sky for 2 years and its seems i am never off the phone asking them to come out and fix my fault box which is always freezing up!
After reading this thread I decided I would try my luck for a sky + box, so I rang up to cancel and was put through to cancellations where I said i didnt feel i was getting enough service for the £600+ a year i pay for the privellage of sky and paying for some of the extra football games and movies. The girl advised me all about sky + and gave me the speil offering it £99 + £30 installation I declined this saying I didnt want to pay extra costs, after a lot of tooing and froing in the end She finally aggreed to a £20 credit towards my next bill or for movies ect and a sky + for £49 i'm quite happuy with this and just wanted to say thanks to everyone because if I hadnt read about this I would have still been stuck with my rubbish sky box. :rolleyes:0 -

been after sky + box for about a year now but refuse point blank to pay £99 + £30 for it as it costs me a fortune anyway (on full premium channels subcription), actually been with sky for 6yrs, i'm a bit unsure as to whether to ring to cancell and hope they give me sky+ just incase they say no. it'll then mean i either say ok leave it or cancell and have no sky at all. Hubby and 5 kids won't be too pleased LOL.
suppose when it came to the crunch i could do the "oh there's someone at the door i'll call you back!":rolleyes:0 -
I guess you could always cancel your cancellation, if you lose your bottleC'mon you Canaries!!0

I cancelled mine by using their online form (not as stressful as phoning them up). In the comments box I wrote 'Please ring me on XXXX XXXXXX if you would like to discuss'.
Sky called the next day and asked why I was leaving, I told them it was because existing customers never seem to get good deals and I'd heard of people getting Sky+ for £49. I was offered it for that price there and then.

Thanks so much everyone! After reading this thread I ordered my sky+ box through quidco. It cost £99 for the box and £30 installation, but I will get £85 cashback through quidco, so it has really only cost £44. You can't beat that.
I am only worried that now I will become a TV addict.:j0 -
