Richard - I was in a similar situation myself, the only difference being my cancellation was 2 months ago. Keep with it as I have today been offered a free sky+ box and free installation. An offer I was being told by the customer services just wasn't available. PM me if you want contact details of who you need to email.0

seems some people expect a little too much.
This site is called Money Saving Expert. £20 to you may be nothing but is alot of money to someone else. Somethings also boil down to principle. You hear so many people being offered one thing yet others get nothing.
It would be easier if they just set standard offer across the board or no offer at all.0 -

Whilst you're correct in that the £20 is small price for less hassle, it's not that simple.
I discussed it work the first day, and didn't have payment to hand at that time, hence requesting a callback that evening to make payment.
My calls today were all at home during the day - I wasn't at work.
It's also not a case oof expecting anything. I pay Sky £600 a year. I fail to see why I should pay any more. I have told Sky that, and have cancelled as a result. They OFFERED me the deal. I didn't ask. They cold called on two separate occassions to regain my business that I was taking elsewhere.
As Tony quite rightly points out, it's a matter of principle. Tony - would appreciate that email if you have it.....0 -
Kept calling sky for two weeks for cancellation but was not able to get free sky+ box and then last friday I was offered free installation and a 80GB sky+ box for £49.
Nearly 5 customer service representative from sky said that they have never seen a deal of free sky+ box.0 -
I cancelled my sky a month ago its the last day today only had one call in the meantime asking why I was cancelling after many years, no offers or inticements. With me its a principle thing with sky, its rubbish full of repeated repeats and 98% of channels I would never watch, only the football appeals to me but I do not watch most of the matches so bye bye sky. Now what can I spend £40 a month on, I know my car tax and insurance.

I said that but I missed the footie far too much.0 -
Sky are not offering me anything even after 10 years with them.
I asked the usual question as to why new customers were getting some great deals and even pointed them in the direction of Quidco. The reply I had states:
"Quidco have nothing to do with Sky this is a retailer who make these offers, to new customers who have never had sky before."
Rubbish - Sky pay Quidco directly. Now what's that phrase about ar5e and elbow ?0 -
I have been with Sky 8 years. I rang up to cancel a few weeks ago hoping to get a free + box. They offered to reduce cost for three months at first, but they just said OK, we will cancel your sky on the 18th :-(
I've had one letter saying come back anytime. No phone calls.
Looks like I'm going to have to phone them and eat humble pie0 -
Well what do you know. 1 hour after posting the message above, Sky phoned my wife and offered us a Sky+ box for £49 all in :j
They're ringing back at 6pm to speak to me as I want to make sure it's a PACE PVR3 box, not one of those rubbish Amstrad ones.
