Does anyone know if it's worth haggling for a cheap deal on the Sky+ on the basis that I am a previous customer even though it was quite a while ago. I am loathed to pay £99 for a box plus £30 installation for something I don't expect we'll really use all that much.
You could try and haggle but I doubt you would get anything.
My parents have just cancelled in August and like you have been with them since 1996 so 11 years of the top package payments and they offered nothing when they wanted to cancel.
All they were offered was the £15 a month package for 2 mixes which new customers also can get. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -

that sounds like us - we cancelled at beginning of august - got offered nothing .....and when I rang nearer the cancellation date was told that as we were on the "cancelling list" nothing could be done and to ring back once the cancellation had happened. Think we will just do without now (the rugby we want to see is on ITV and the freeview ITV so very relieved!)....just means we have some extra money each month.0 -
Has anyone ever cancelled sky and opened up another subscription in another name, ie your partners name? Do sky work on account names or account addresses?
I have seen the quidco offer of £110 cashback and thought that would be a great way of getting sky+ cheap.0 -

Whenever i've been in touch with them my details have popped up on their screen after giving them the landline number and address THEN they asked for my name so I don't think it'll make a difference who's name you give. Smile, you only get one life, LIVE IT.0 -

After 20m they charge you for extra cabling, its all stated on the contract and leter she would have received, and of course it has to go in a certain place as it has to point towards the satelite.
There are some cowboy installers that try and rip people off, i would ring Sky and query it , you will have got a receipt from the installer with the charge on it.0 -
had mine installed today £49 all in after I phoned up to cancel due to working shifts, well pleased thanks to this forum0

Phoned up to cancel today. Got offered brand new pvr3 box with installation for £49. Was told that the prices should be £30 installation and £99 for the box.
It is being fitted on Monday morning and the guy on the phone said if I asked the engineer for a PACE PVR3 it would be no problem as they have plenty of all different boxes on the van.0 -

Exactly the same for me. I let them talk up the perks of Sky+ but then said I couldn't afford the £129.Bet match total as of 04/10 = God Knows + About £1000 Quidco. Time for Mrs Huddsta to have a crack!!!
