Just rang 08705 800874, explained that I was interested in ordering sky tv and understood they were running a deal where sky + were given away for free. The nice chap said yes that was true, free sky + & free install for people referred by friends, he also said the boxes are new. Gave him my sisters name and phone number (referrer) and 10 mins later all sorted.

Just wanted to say thanx to those on the forum who helped me out. Just rang up Sky saying I wanted to cancel. Didn't think I was going to get anything but they put me through to the cancellations department and I was offered Sky+ for £49, which I'm happy about!

They're coming Tuesday to install it! Admittedly, I did get my dad to speak to them after cos he sounds more authoritative than me but it worked!

Would love to know how you got that deal... Sky are saying it definately doesnt exist. (just tried for my friend and then he tried). It also states on Junes MYSKY email that the introduce a friend deal is £30 M&S vouchers. Now spoken to 5 different people on the number you supplied and none have a clue about this deal..

That's what I did, subscribed to normal sky waited a day then e-mailed to say I wanted the friend referial deal. They said no but have £30 credit. I then phoned and said thanks but keep your £30 I want sky+ or I won't sign up. Only took a few minutes for them to say ok to new sky+box free insterlation and I got to keep the £30.

I was polite and they were very helpful :j

I think you have more power once you have an account. They really don't want you to cancle before insterlation. You are not commited to sky until the sky card is in.

Infact the guy told me on me phone " at this stage we will do all we can to make you feel welcome and excited about sky, we don't want to loose you at this point"

But according to sky there is no deal for a referal free Sky+ box... The £30 vouchers is running until June 15th..

They told me that, I said my friend had told me and that was the only reason I wanted sky. I even said oh that was a missunderstanding then

As soon as I said well in that case I am not intrested but thanks anyway, I got what I wanted.

This was talked about in another thread.
The number to ring is 08703 360 159, the code is sky+iaf.

I gave my brother the code for this, he had to give them my name and phone number to check so have details of your friend handy.

Doesnt matter... Managed to talk the nieghbour into getting a recon box.. Showed him mine with the 120 hours worth of recording time and he went for it. Just explained I didnt see the point of the new ones because sky take half of the space to record whatever they want on to it in the hope you will upgrade to watch it.. And with 3 times more recording time and the same 12 months warranty he cant really lose...
