Sky man just gone , had to replace dish , but very kindly moved my freezer and put wire through the wall so cables are not seen . Down side Refurbished Pace PVR1 fitted .Bit big and ugly . But will do the job. Thanks Op.

What a total palaver! Got to the end of the installation only to be asked for my viewing card, which I had to inform him I hadn't been sent. Now have to wait for it to be posted in another 3-5 days which kinda sucks. The engineer was slightly narky by the end of it and truly getting on my nerves. He messed up my phone line and then turned around to me saying I could only have the sky on or my phone and b/band on. Not both at the same time!!! I told him he was having a laff and to sort it out pronto. Which he did in the end. The whole process took around 95mins.

:D :T I'm really pleased as just phoned sky and said I was an old customer who wanted to come back, but wanted sky+ box and installation for free, as have a friend that has just had it, and straight away was told Yes no problem! Great - they are now coming on 13th June, Many thanks to OP
  • After reading this site I gave Sky a call on Thursday, got put though to cancellations and as I've still got 3 months contract left on broadband didn't get anywhere.

Tried again and got Omar he wouldn't budge an inch, 3 months contract etc

Tried a 3rd time this time I rang the customer relations number posted on this thread, at last no problem and got Sky+ PVR3 box to be installed Sunday morning!! £49 free installation. Good enough for me

So don't give up I must have spend 45 minutes overall on the telephone to them, I did ring the 015.... number first of all but then splashed out on the 0870 one and got a reuslt.

Had Sky+ fitted yesterday, paid £49 for new box. Had to change dish and he put old box upstairs (gave him £15 to do this) and he also sorted out our multi room box as that hadn't been working properly. So very pleased. Thanks op.

    Hi Guys,

Just been reading this thread, I already have sky digital (£43.50 per month) and have been thinking about getting sky+ for a while now, but have some questions for the experts!!:

    1. Would they they require me to replace my current satelite dish?
    2. Would they they require me to replace my current digital box to get sky+, or is it a separate box?
    3. Will they tie me into a 12mth contract for signing up to the free box/free sky+ deal?
    4. I alreeady have a panasonic dvd recorder (with harddrive), am i still able to use this with sky even with having sky+ (i.e are they compatible?....can you record programmes that are being shown on your sky/sky+)

    Thanks for your help!!!!

no, they will just put a quaqd lnb on your dish to feed the sky + which needs 2 inputs

    2. Would they they require me to replace my current digital box to get sky+, or is it a separate box?

separate box, you can keep your old one or give it to me:D

    3. Will they tie me into a 12mth contract for signing up to the free box/free sky+ deal?

don't know the answer to this, some people have had a 12 month contract imposed on them and others have not. You will have to try your luck with customer services/retentions

    4. I alreeady have a panasonic dvd recorder (with harddrive), am i still able to use this with sky even with having sky+ (i.e are they compatible?....can you record programmes that are being shown on your sky/sky+)

    Should be able to

    Thanks for your help!!!!

    Hope that helps you
