Don't know where I stand but I rang to cancel my subscription at the end of April as my offer had ended 3 months prior and only realised that sky had been collecting 43.50 for the last 3 months from my account. the guy I spoke to was dead nice but I still insisted I'd had enough.
Then last week got a call offering me a free sky + box with frr instalation and because as he informed me I had 40 something pond in credit he would add another 25 pound and if I opted for the 15 pound per month packge (didn't say what this included) I would infact have 3 months free viewing. who can't do maths?? Anyway today I got my bank statement and guess what they have taken a further 43.50 from my bank account on May 14th!!!!
Rang them and was eventually put on hold, got so frustrated waiting I hung up, that was about 2 hours ago and nothing.
What should I do?? Any advice would be appreciated.0 -
I would say the first, most important thing to do is to CANCEL the direct debit. If you feel you cannot get anywhere with Sky, invoke the Direct Debit guarantee. This means you can get an immediate refund from your bank - ring them up but do not accept no for an answer. You can find out more info about the guarantee HERE
This of course assumes that you pay by DD.

I offered a £10 and that worked well. My neighbour offered £20 and it was done so it should do!

I will offer £10 and see how it goes. I have already got links in all the bedrooms so that when I play sky downstairs I can watch it in my bedroom. I do not know how it is going to work, I did not want a lot of cables showing on the wall, therefore, the engineer put the cable through the bedroom's roof when he installed the links, also if I play video downstairs, I can watch in my bedroom. I am not sure whether he will do it if it involves cable going round. The sky+ will be in the lounge at the back of the house and my bedroom is in the front. I guess, it will not matter as I am now using a philips freeview box in my bedroom and it is doing the job and is very portable. Thanks0 -
Thanks all just phones and was offered the free upgrade and decoder and everything free and downgraded to a 15 pound package.
No haggling - been with them just over a year.0 -
Had a problem with my reception which has been getting steadily worse over the last few months (suspect it's the trees opposite). Rang Sky in the week to see if they could fix it. After a few checks they said they could arrange for an engineer to attend for £65. I said that I would get cable installed for less than that and asked to be put through to disconnections. Guy offered me the upgrade to Sky+ for £49, fix/replace dish/LNB and free subscription " as you've been a customer for 7 years".
They're coming on monday.0 -
