Thanks for the advice all... free box, free installation and no £10 charge (I already get the Sky Sports package)

I just said a mate had got the deal and I wanted it too (with a mention that I was now working away from home a lot nowadays).

    Many Thanks!!!

i just rang sky to remove sky sports over the summer, so I am now on just 4 mixes (without movies or sport) the advisor told me I wont be charged the £10 fee for sky plus, so it looks like it going to be free after all.

    Confused...

We have just moved in to our new property and they already have the SKY cables coming out of the wall right by where the TV is going. So, we have a HD ready TV, all the sky cables and dish already in place. What is the best Sky+ deal we can get and what is the best SKY HD deal we can get?

I wanna negotitate hard, I just want to know what our best case scenario is so I can go for it.

Anyone who can help would be very appreciated. :money:

This one! So, any ideas? I thought someone would want a new customer who wants a huge package on Sky (£50+)

Would people please stop posting in huge red letters as it is hardly easy to read. I think most people read every post anyway and it just seems like a rant when in your face..

I asked my wife to ring up (it's in her name) and said she wanted to cancel it because we both work shifts (thanks OP of this comment), they asked if we thought of Sky+ and she said it was too expensive, which is when they offered it free. I think this is the best way to go. I do not know what box they are bringing though but we do have to have a new 12 month contract..

    hmm... intriguing.

Had my free Sky+ box installed last week and i am thinking to cancel my contract in July, as there won't be any subscription charge for sky+ from July and we don't watch sky that much and took this contract as i needed a sky+ box. Does it work?

    Meh

I was quoted £99 for the box and £60 for instalation, and they wouldnt budge even when I said I couldn't afford it. So much for being a valued customer of theirs for five years!

That's what i was told, you then have to say that you are unhappy with that offer and it's not really worth your while having sky at all so you want to cancel, when you get through to retentions explain that £160 is too much blah blah, you've been with them 5 years etc but it's not worth your while having sky as you don't get much of a chance to see your programs you should get an offer then. At worst they will put your cancellation through but you get a month to change your mind :)

The Sky+ box will not work unless you have a Sky subscription. You can have the cheapest (£15/month) package.

    hmm... intriguing.

have just booked free sky+ - installation etc, for fri - we are existing customers and have been for 12 yrs. Mentioned the flyer but apparently the guy on the phone had not seen it!!! He spoke to his boss and because i said it seemed unfair, as we had been with them so long and we would have to cancel - he came back with an installation date. RESULT
