    hi there,
i am in the need of some advice. in our family we subscribe to the sports package and is currently in the tennis season. Mum loves the tennis on sky sports so wouldn't want to lose it. but by reading through various posts it seems a high success rate so is it worth the risk?

    thanks

Rubbish :D its so you can record one channel and watch another.
    .

That is what I meant, no point in recording what you are actually watching.. is there..

No benefit over a standard receiver really, I cannot see the point in having Sky+ if you are not using it's facilities fully.

I had no intention of cancelling as i wouldn't be without my sky, it is well worth the risk, even if you get no offer and they cancel you, you have a month to change your mind.

I went with the excuse that my friend had recieved sky plus for £49 and no way was i paying £160 for it i'd rather cancel, i explained that to retentions when i was finally put through and she said she'd see what she could do, hey presto i was offered a new box + instillation for £49 i didn't push to get it free as i wanted a new box.

Anyone know if an existing Sky+ subscriber can use this offer to get another box (multiroom) with free installation? My Sky+ box is about 3 years old now and a bit glitchy.

    Meh

I was quoted £99 for the box and £60 for instalation, and they wouldnt budge even when I said I couldn't afford it. So much for being a valued customer of theirs for five years!

    EXTREMELY ANNOYED CUSTOMER!!!!

Right, I rang the sales team about a week ago and as an existing customer asked if they would do the Sky + box for £99 & waive the installation fee. He agreed to do this and had it installed on Saturday...GREAT!
WRONG! I have just checked my credit card statement this morning and have been charged £99 + £60 installation!!!!
Have just rang them up to complain and have been passsed from one department to another and are denying that i was ever offered this! What shall I do? They are now saying that they do not have a complaints department and the only thing I can do is to write a letter. I am on the 4 mix + broadband + phone. Really feel like cancelling my entire subscription. I know I am locked in to a 12 month broadband contract...am I able to cancel my TV package and continue to pay £5 /month for my broadband?

    Thanks in advance

Anybody know if there is anything I can do regarding this. The sales person has blatently given me false information and they are saying that there is no note on my system to indicate that I was offered free installation. They are also telling me that they do not have a complaints department and that the only thing that I can do is to write a letter. I am so annoyed, I can feel my blood boiling. Can't even send it back as there is no way that they will refund the entire £160.

Are the Phone Conversations not recorded?

Ring up, give your details and straight away inssit on speaking to a manager or supervisor.

Give the Date you rang up and time originally when you were offered the SKy+ tell them to check the recordings.

Dont let them fob you off.

If after all that they dont budge, tell them you will be ringing your card company up and disputing the transaction via them and also looking for compensation for the hassle and phone calls required to get the issue resolved including and interest charges for taking the payment for installation.

Then ring your card company up and tell them you want to put the card transaction into dispute. They will take you through the dispute process.

oooh, I cant beleive you didnt get the new line put in.:p

One of the best features is the twin tuner function, record one channel while watching something else.

Also to record 2 things at once that are on at the same time while still be able to watch another recording.
