Thanks davilown. Phoned Sky this morning and we are getting Sky+ installed this tuesday. FREE installation, free box and no extra charge a month. :j I phoned 08706080431 but they told me no. is for old customers and gave me number for current customers 08700248973, cancellations dep. I said due to work we miss most of programms we want to watch so thinking of cancelling. First he offered free inst. but £99 for box I said it's too much. Then he offered box for £49 and free inst. but I said it's still too much so he said there is another option, refurbished box for free, free instal. and no extra fee a month. As the box comes with 1yr warranty we decided to go for it. Thanks davilown and everyone also who took time to reply and inform of their result.Official DFW Member no:4100

Yeah I rang SKY up yesterday and told them I was cancelling to go to freeview with a pvr box, and immediatly they offered me a refurb pvr2 box, 12mth guarantee, free install, no monthly charge (apart from the time i use sky+ between now and next billing date which will result in about £4 subscription and then no subscription from July). Its being installed monday!
Do I keep my current digibox too? Or do I have to ask the engineer if I can keep it?
Oh, and its a 12mth guarantee you get on the refurbs too.0 -
Have just called again and was told (again) that it would cost £159.......

Mocha - call sky. go to the sky digital customer services. ask to be transferred to cancellations. Now say that your thinking of cancelling as you are going to get a recordable freeview box, but your friend told you he got a REFURB SKY+ BOX FOR FREE. Say that. Try it now and get back to me.
I had no probs.0 -

mocha are you still under a contract as you will not get the offerif you are,and if not i think the key is not to mention that you know about the offers , just say you think youd like to cancel due to not watching it as much and that things you want to watch are on late or your telly has freeview (i said all of these) it might work for you
you spend the first years of your childs life encouraging them to walk and talk and then spend the next 15 years telling them to sit down and shut up!
