help?= had sky without any packages(free channels etc)- broke contract agreement with them, did recieve a flyer ages ago saying come back and only have to pay 50 per cent due-
will i be able to do this deal? sky plus etc..
I had the flyer and managed to take them up on the 50% debt write off aswell as free sky+. I only had the debt cos they cocked up on the billing which seems common place for sky!!
They are coming wednesday to install it!:p0 -
I phoned sky a couple of weeks ago to cancel as needed to save money, and was offered the skyplus box and installation free with no monthly charges I agreed to this and also downgraded some of my package as was far too expensive. I told the person on the phone that i had no home phone so they need to updsate their records (long story involving teenagers)!! the man did this while on the phone to him and arrangments were made for installation to take place 4 days later. Something came up and i had to change the date, so rang them and again told the operator that i only had a mobile contact, no home phone!!
The man came to install and couldnt cos there is no home phone line!!!!! Twice i told them that i didnt have a home phone!!!!!
So i need to phone again now to see what they can do/offer otherwise i will cancel!!! trouble is have to do it from my mobile and they keep u hanging on for ages!! has anyone had any success in getting offers of half p[rice etc or free via email if theyve tried to cancel by email?? and why do i have to have a phone line?? I have never had my existing box connected to a phone line, i took the plug out as soon as it was installed some 8 years ago!!(teenagers again)!!0 -
Regarding the remote i cannot get the Navigator i also got free to work with magic eye but can get any sky+ with it to work. Is there a problem with the navigator?0

YAH result! After being told that I couldn't upgrade as I'd no credit/debit card to pay with and there was no alternate my hubbie rang to cancel the services as we we're going to switch to Virgin. The chap on the phone asked why and we explained that we didn't really want to swop but as our sky box has not been working well for a couple of months and we wanted to upgrade but had no way to pay he offered us a free sky+ box and free instillation!0

Just had my Sky+ fitted today, thanks to OP.:beer:
One thing I have noticed, the box seems quite noisy compared to my old box. It sounds like the hard disk spinning.
It's only noticable when the sound is off so it's not really a problem, just wondered if anybody else had noticed this.

Just phoned and got the package mentioned
I've been with Sky for about 4 years and have the basic channels + SkySports only when the Footy Season is on.
Got put through to Cancellations and mentioned about having a baby and not being able to watch the programs we want when we want to, and she offered the £50quid New Sky+ box without the £10 monthly subscription...Result!! Fitting on Friday!
Although I think she may have waivered on the £10 a month subscription because I still have Sky Sports. I assume I'll find out when I cancel it this week.
If your thinking of doing this, don't wait, get on the phone. It takes 30 days to disconnect you anyway, so if you don't get the offer, just phone back a few days later and say you've changed your mind!!
Better still, I can sell my 300GB Tivo now for around £100-£200 and make a profit!!! Woohoo!!

We've had Sky+ for a number of years which costs £10 per month on top of the £15 standard package, and today we received (as many others have I think) a letter saying that from 1st July the £10 will be waived!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j
However, they say it's a loyalty bonus so if we cancel in the future then they will start charging again.... :mad: :mad: :mad:
So maybe if you ask, you don't need Sky Sports or Movies any longer to get the free Sky+!
