Confused...
We have just moved in to our new property and they already have the SKY cables coming out of the wall right by where the TV is going. So, we have a HD ready TV, all the sky cables and dish already in place. What is the best Sky+ deal we can get and what is the best SKY HD deal we can get?
I wanna negotitate hard, I just want to know what our best case scenario is so I can go for it.
Anyone who can help would be very appreciated. :money:0 -
hi - reading all these posts - I want to call up too. I have a normal sky box and a sky+ box and have 2 mixes and pay for multiroom too. I also have sky broadband. My contract does not expire till October. Do you think I could be eligible to getting a free sky+ box in exchange of the normal box (if I had any excuse)???0

Ok, i need a new plan of action. i actually agreed to sky+ for £95 as they also offered to repair/replace my existing box for free so I could use it for multiroom. However, I have to pay by debit/credit card which I don't have so i'm now stuck with an old box that keeps losing the signal, I don't really want to switch to Virgin as I watch sky one quite often. Anyone got any bright ideas?
new box from ebay? Probably cost around £50. Phone Sky and get them match your card to the box.0 -

When i signed up in Feb , i got 4 packs at half price for a year ( £9 )
Reading this thread i picked up a sky + box second hand and i am currently waiting on the 1 st July before i phone sky to pair the box .
However im thinking that maybe i should just take the hit and pay for the months sky+ and get it sorted now . Thing is do you think this would affect my 1 year deal if i add sky plus .something missing0 -
Thank you very much to the OP for this great tip!
Phoned today told them we wanted to cancel cos we work shifts and never get to see anything. Engineer coming on Monday to install free Sky+ box! Yea!!
He did say that all the free boxes are refurbs and if ayone wants a brand new one, they have to pay the £49. He also said that I MUST keep it connected to the phone line but I know this to be untrue..... so happy days.
Thanks again!0 -
Thanks to davilown for this marvellous tip. My new Sky+ box was installed today by an excellent engineer, for free. I just paid £49 for the new box.
Cos I couldn't get my Sky Navigator (got for the price of a phone call a while back, thanks to this wonderful site!) to work with the 'magic eye' I have installed in the bedroom, he gave me a second remote for free!
Only problem is that none of the Sky + remotes, including the Navigator will change channels on Sky, via the 'eye' like the old ones did. Any ideas or quick fixes please, anyone.
EDIT
Have done a search (yes, I know I should've, before I asked the question:o )

Lots of info here for anyone in the same situation.0 -

Has the voltage for the RF output been enabled, there is a thing in the service menu to do this. I think you press services then quickly type :
401select. Should get you to the service menu.
Make sure the coaxial cable to the eye is in the right socket (there are 2 RF outputs).0 -
with sky plus box - i take there is still rf connectors at back, as on normal sky box running ariel lead into kitchen tv to get sky..
thanks for those that can answer0
