Hi Bebster,
I tried last night and said if you do it for £99 + free install then i would take it, but they were having none of it. Guess it depends on what person you speak to from Sky. Did you say anything different to what has already been posted to get yours for £99 + free install?
I've just called the sales line, and said I've heard previous customers have been able to get sky+ box for free with free install. They've pretty much offered it for £99 + free install every time, but wont budge on that. I've not taken it any further than that, so I'm not sure if they're even offering the sky+ functionality for free??0 -

Thanks bebster, just rang and said "I know that the best deal you can do for existing customers is £99 + free install" and he said "ok engineer will be with you on Saturday!" He also confirmed that it would be a brand new, lastest generation box and that i will be charged 1 month Sky + subsrciption and then it will be free from 1st july. All in all I am very happy. One last question.... My current digibox is only 3 months old and is fetching about £60 on Ebay. Do I own this??? If so I will stick it on Ebay and then this whole process will only cost me about £50.0 -
 Well done James for getting that discount - it does seem like if the system won't allow the more generous offers then probably the best you'll get is for Sky to drop the installation charge (and that seems fairly hard to squeeze out of them). On my part I've tried every which way but alas, no luck so far - although I do have one final iron in the fire and that may or may not come to fruitrion.
Ultimately if Sky can't be a tad more flexible on the terms (bearing in mind I have never had any equipment or installation done by Sky - all privately done) then I'll just have to sit tight until I'm out of contract and by then another provider may possibly be offering better deals.
Cest La Vie, the summers coming and actually it's only TV;)

Can anyone answer the following Sky+ upgrade questions:
1. Do they run an extra cable from the satellite disk to the new Sky+ box? or does is still use the same existing cable?
2. Can you use your old standard sky box to view free to view channels without paying sky any extra money? and again would you need to run a seperate cable from the disk to this box or can you run a cable from your Sky+ box to your standard sky box?0 -

1.They will install a Quad LNB on your dish (or put a new dish up) and run a separate cable to the new box.
2. I believe that you can simply get a FreeSat card for the 2nd box for £20 and then that's it. It will need a 3rd feed from the dish though.0 -
rang up and said i wanted to cancel and offered me a 80gb new box and free installation and no £10 monthly charge cos i had been with them for 15 years.got a new phillips box last year for free and new wiring and dish cos i was cancelling and reception was cr*p.
really impressed with the sky+ and so easy to work.skyman just tacked my fone cable to the skirting board cos of the t+cs of the offer.
always ask for the cancellations dept and talk nicely to them.People bring great joy into our lives..some by arriving, others by leaving.im trying to be one of the former, so please bear with

Is that a new cable or is that an extra (i.e. 2nd cable) to the sky+ box?0
