Anyway, as long as all of you people are content to give Sky a tenner a month for your so called " Free " Sky+ usage, so be it.
Perhaps the OP may consider the wording of his/her post next time, very misleading.
This would also have to apply to practically every Mobile phone contract as well. Free phone but you still need to pay to use it.. In fact for that matter real radio are giving away free cars but they arent really free as they need petrol to run... Need I go on???
Also where do you get the £10 a month... I am on the basic package at £15 a month.. After getting the sky+ box I am still paying £15 a month.. Is there some sort of package at £10 I dont know about???
BTW got the deal no problem ... thanks OP0 -
Thank you OP. After speaking to someone about upgrading, and being told there were no deals at the moment, I asked to be put through to cancellations, where a lovely young man offered me a brand new box for £49, free installation, and no £10 fee!!

Took a couple of phone calls but then spoke to a really nice guy on 0870404040 and said I was ringing about the sky+ offer
free installation
Free Box
etc
and he said OK

Thankyou!0 -
Have just rang Sky and said I wish to cancel and they just went ahead and did it ! Said I have 30 days before it goes off. Presumably I can just sit and wait to see if I am offered anything and then reinstate if need be after that ?
Have been with them since 2002 so am a bit miffed
Never mind, that is the chance you take I suppose !
Thought I would have another go ! Rang Sky (rang number on leaflet after being given a number by sales dept which was a dead number ! ) to say my account was in cancellation but a friend had received the leaflet re. free Sky +box .She put me on hold for a minute , came back and said I can have free Sky+ box, free installation, no monthly subscription for box plus 10% off my current package subscription for 3 months !! OP -Thank you soooo much.:j
THANK YOU TO ALL WHO TAKE TIME TO POST COMPETITIONS

PLEASE HELP!!!!!
I have just phoned sky asking for the free sky+ offer, to be told that this offer is not on my account!
I asked the lady for the cancellations number which she has given me.
I have had my account since sept last year so I still have 4 months left on the contract but I REALLY want sky +!
Can someone advise the best things to say when I phone Sky cancellations department as I feel quite nervous and dont want to muck it up!
I tried to get sky + on a offer last year when they had the £49 deal but they would not give in then.
Thanks

Hi, I think the problem is that you are still in contract until september thus you havent got much bargaining power and if you insist cancelling your contract they will just charge you a fee for the remaining months.
The people that have managed to get the free offer have been the people that have their contracts finished or left and are now being offered it to come back.
So i dont think you can do much as of now.0 -
yes i think you will be under contract still, i rang on sunday and told them that i was thinking about cancelling because we didint watch it as much as we did and that everything we wanted to watch was on quite late and she suggest sky +,i said it was too expensive and she said cos we had been with them for 6/7 years that we could get it for 49.99,i asked if that was the best deal and she said yes but when she put in my details for installation it came up with no charge,so coming tomorrow to fit sky+ free installation free box all for my usual monthly payment.so many thanks to the original poster
you spend the first years of your childs life encouraging them to walk and talk and then spend the next 15 years telling them to sit down and shut up!

Hi Desperate Lady
If you are still in contract then currently the best price you will be offered is £99.00 + £60.00 installation - in other words full price. A bit frustrating but that's the way the contract works and Sky's database tells them who has received spcific mail outs and who hasn't. However the minute you are out of contract and say you're going to cancel they will offer you the World.
I'm in the same boat as you As I signed up for Sky Broadband last September and a new twelve month contract began. I'd love to get Sky+ now and would be happy to sign up for a further twelve month contract but I'm not willing to pay the full £159 they want so I'll just have to be patient and come September see what I get offered.
TBH I've always got a different discounted deal every year from Sky ranging from half price and such like (currently pay £13.50 per month for the 4 Mix) so I can't complain really.

Hiya,
Reading this thread with interest.
I had full package + 2nd card (full package) which was costing £50+ a month. Towards the end of last year i phoned up as i had a letter in saying fee is going up each month and i threatened to cancel. They knocked of the movies for me .. all repeats anyway and gave me half price for 3 months.
That's ran out now and i'm back up to £47 a month. Was thinking about getting rid of the kids channels etc (don't have any kids you see:D) but couldn't decide which other one to drop .. since you need to drop in 2's. Was also thinking of dropping Sports during the summer (as mentioned in another thread). In fact long term might be better since they've lost most football & golf to Setanta.
Tempted to phone them up to cancel sport etc and try for this Sky+ deal ..... since i doubt i'd get 2 boxes of them i'm thinking i could maybe pick up a 2nd box on ebay etc.
Does anyone know if the quad LNB feeds 2 Sky+ boxes ? .....
