Yes it is like a school playground and why that can be a very good memory for some, for others it can scar them for life.:(

In which case they need to learn to deal with it effectively. At a young age (as a fat kid) I was taught to ignore it, rise above it and the problem would go away. It did - it gets very boring picking on someone that does not react.

The wider picture is that no one at work believes the OP. That is not going to change simply because she makes repeat complaints.

How long should you pursue something that you are never going to win? Taking your stance, a year from now the OP will probably have had a nervous breakdown. Or they could make a break and be happy in a new job. Which is the better outcome?

How do you know, no-one believes the op..? They might full well know what is going on but be too afraid to speak up..?

I agree she could make a break and be very happy. Why should she have to though?.

Your advice is to basically give everyone a green light to bully whomever they wish, because as far as your concerned you'd advise everyone to look for another job.

Yep, but then they move onto someone else who isn't as strong don't they. Then what happens, you hear of people killing themselves because of the pressure and lack of support.

Personally i think it should be tackled more head on.

No, my advice is to know when a battle is lost. If something is worth pursuing then go for it, but this situation clearly is not.

Your advice is to pursue everything until it kills you.

Which sounds like the better recipe for a happy life?

Easy to say, but in most situations nigh on impossible.

You assume this manager is going to move on to picking on someone else, but there is nothing to suggest this is the case. Equally likely is an issue between the manager and the OP, and once that has been overcome neither of them will have an issue again.

I would suggest that those who kill themselves have not been given the support to move forward. Finding a new job would give an opportunity to move on, unlike staying where they are.

The one where this scenario never occurs, seems the better recipe for a happy life to me. ;)

But it has - so the OP needs a solution that will give them a better prospect of moving forward. What is the better for her future - a new start or a nervous breakdown?

i was recently part to a greivance taken out on me for numerous things inc bullying and harrassment needless to say it got chucked out the person in question was bordering on incompetent and was subject to a pep plan on their performance and didnt like it. I had been nothing but nice to this person, went overboard in asking about personal life and weekend activities. The case was chucked out and no case proven. All of his accusations were in his mind, over acting mind and nothing better to do with his time. I think you need to move on with your life enjoy your new job and forget it as i am sure your greivance will be chucked out aswell and you will only be the loser.
