All people should earn at least the average wage.

I'm writing to Ed to suggest this as it will boost the economy and enhance fairness and equality.

We should pay for this by printing money.

So, staying bang on topic,

'The independent thinktank the Institute for Fiscal Studies has calculated that for every pound spent paying the living wage, the Treasury saves 50p through not needing to pay tax credits and benefits.'

The eonomy needs the Treasury to benefit - great idea to share some of the responibility with firms and councils - rewarding those that expect their sub contractors to pay a bit more for quality staff?

That so last year... getting a bit dated and jaded now... have you heard about the Plan A for Austerity being 'found out' as wrong by an economics student, or that the IMF has changed its advice and will shortly instruct George Osborne to change course to Plan B for Boost? This Living Wage plan fits that new growth agenda perfectly - need to keep up with breaking news in these rapidly moving social media times

Or maybe you know better than the IMF?

Yes, I'm sure the independent think tank the IFS will calculate that if we all earned more then the average wage, tax income would rise and benefits would fall so helping George balance the budget (which I think is DLW actual secret objective).

The idea of using some of the cash for real,quality training instead of pseudo-training cheap labour for Poundland type 'apprenticeships' is great

I'd like to earn the average wage of a man. As I live alone it means even an OK-sounding salary doesn't stretch to any more than rent/bills/transport to work.

Yesterday some politician (millionaire Benyon I think) had the cheek to try to advise low wage people about cooking- comments were made about eating for a pound - and even recipes suggested on a show , apparently a huge blunder was made when they suggested tinned kidney beans as an ingredient (they cost at least 75p per tin!!! so no good for those living alone on less than a living wage,wastage would defeat the object and be uneconomical)

What planet are these toffs on?
