I can imagine your frustration, as plenty of customers have been there with this issue- what do you do if staff at Sky advise and act in contradiction of Sky's terms & conditions?

See also, the Sky Customer Complaints Code of Practice , which gives you certain rights (explained therein) to complain to an ombudsman if Sky don't resolve a complaint to your satisfaction.

Early termination is one of a number of issues where customers are experiencing difficulties exercising their rights to cancel Sky products/services ( a common complaint on the Sky forum over a sustained period).

If you look through these threads or these from the Sky forum, you'll see loads of examples within them and advice on what should happen.

For the problem you have, I'd advise ringing Sky direct, you'll get a far more immediate decision and it won't cost the earth for the call.

Unfortunately, on this particular issue, some customers who have questioned the original response have had the wrong response "clarified" to them when they've subsequently challenged it.:)
