When we had this issue I opted to drive my car both on and off the drive, so its nose was in the driveway whereas the rear was stuck out obstructing the neighbours ability to block me in.

Park one of your cars on the road outside your house making sure it leaves enough room to get your other car off the drive. We have to do that to stop our neighbours parking over our driveway. It's worked a treat.

If you have a fence nearby, you could hang sign saying "please do not block driveway"

Some people may see that as a challenge/invitation :D
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

Only if there is not a pavement, otherwise YOU would be causing an obstruction and liable to fines. ;)

I live in a cul-de-sac, where all the cars do likewise. ;)

Keep asking if you can nip in to use his bathroom while he moves his car? That might annoy him sufficiently that he decides it's easier to just park properly.

    Hi everyone,

We moved into our rented house 2 months ago, our neighbours have a scrap van and also a small car.

We have a drive for our 2 cars, they do not have a drive.

They park both vehicles on the road, day and night, and quite often block our drive so we cant get on off!!!

We have been very polite and asked them if they mind pulling forward so we can get on/off etc and they turn round and say ohh give me 10 minutes

I have 2 dogs and a baby on the way! i am really stressing about the future when baby is here.. i cant keep sitting in the car waiting 10/15minutes sometimes more for him to move his van so i can get on the drive and in my house!

Someone else in the road has complained to the council about his van before and he shouldnt leave it parked there overnight but he does!

Is there anything that can be done? :(

    :eek::eek::eek: thats a strange mix:rotfl::rotfl:
sorry I cant help but it made me chuckle
    I  MOJACAR

I'd get in touch with VOSA and tell them about a dodgy traders van, say you think its over weight etc, he'll get pulled at some point :)
You may click thanks if you found my advice useful
  • When a new family moved in two doors down this kept happening to our neighbours... constantly...

One night we came back to find the police out, our friendly neighbour of 20 years had flipped out and rammed their BMW XD

They've never blocked the drive-way again since mind you
