In tears...LCP parking charge and subsequent POPLA appeal refused

Someone please help me...I'm in tears because I just don't know what to do!
Last Xmas eve I parked my car in a carpark in chesterfield. I put 2 tickets on the car covering a 4 hr period, however in January I received a letter from LCP informing me that I had overstayed by 19 mins and that I now owed £40 if I payed within 14 days otherwise it would rise to £80.
I appealed to them saying I had purchased a ticket for my stay, however they rejected it saying I only paid for 4 hours in total.
I then appealed to POPLA and explained that on Xmas eve I returned to my car to pay extra time. But to be honest I didn't realise it was CCTV operated and thought there wouldn't be any wardens patrolling the carparks that late on Xmas eve in the rain so didn't rush back to the car but equally didn't stay all night!?
The appeal from POPLA has been rejected so I phoned LCP to make a payment, however was informed that the charge was now at £80.she was rude and said that if I didn't pay she would send the debt collectors round to my house!?
This has terrified me! Iv never been in debt but this seems so unfair!
Please could someone tell me what I should do? Ivreadloadsof posts saying ignore the letters but does that apply if POPlA are involved and know it was me driving ( as I admitted that in the appeal?)
Advice would be much appreciated because I'm stressing massively about this....

Right - you have lost at POPLA No big deal.
You should sit tight now and wait for the letter chain which will follow.
They can't send ANYONE to your door. Sure, some "debt collectors" may write, but unless a proper court summons from Northampton court arrives, it's just the Big Bad Wolf huffing and puffing.
I read from your post that you did overstay your paid for time. Correct?
You need to confirm as any appeal to court which we could help you with, should the need arise, needs to be clear.
But stop fretting for now.0 -
Thank you so much for your quick reply...
Iv already received a 'final' demand sort of letter along with 4 other reminder letters!?
Yes you are correct that I overstayed....by 19 minutes according to their CCTV?

It seems to me that you are near the end of their 'threatograms' and soon they will give up. Please please don't let scammers stress you out.
No one will turn up at your door.
They will not(99.99999% certain)try court.
So chill out with a glass.

This is your thread. By all means come back onto it whenever you hear from them and ask for advice and encouragement not to pay them a penny!
Its highly likely they will just threaten you again but after a while skidaddle and try and mug someone else.Got a ticket from ParkingEye? Seek advice by clicking here: Private Parking forum on MoneySavingExpert.:j0 -

Wait a minute...did you actually overstay the P&D ticket time though?
This was a camera-enforced ticket showing your car driving in and out in (presumably) a gridlocked car park on Christmas Eve.
And yet had your P&D ticket even expired?
And what was the date of the PCN Notice (the first one) and when did you actually receive it?
We've said before regarding another PPC, Parking Eye, that having P&D machines in a car park AND cameras recording a completely different thing (arrival and leaving time) simply isn't compatible.
DO NOT PHONE THIS SCAMMER UP AGAIN AND DO NOT PAY. THE BALL IS IN THEIR COURT NOW AND IF THEY DID TRY A SMALL CLAIM I AM CERTAIN THIS IS VERY DEFENDABLE!
As well as answering the above questions, please can you show us (copy & paste) Shona's full POPLA decision and the text of your appeal if you have it saved?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I'm amassing quite a collection of letters now. I have a disability that doesn't yet (in my eyes) warrant a blue badge (I'm stubborn) but means my movement is often limited, especially with shopping. On a bad day, I will park within the pretty yellow lines drawn on the ground but only if there are a few vacant spaces as I'm aware that there may be people who need them more than me. (I wouldn't display my badge even if I had one as they're not valid on private land.)
Anyway, I thought I might wallpaper my toilet with the all letters but then thought, no they'll be more use to wipe my backside with.
Cut any letters you get into quarters, punch a hole through the corner and tie them together with string then hang them in your bathroom

Nice post! And as you know, you can legally use a private 'disabled bay' provision due to your condition anyway, when you need to.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Oh stoppit, get a grip please, cry at worthwhile stuff in life, not this old scam!
We have already said you will now get the usual letter chains and can ignore it now (as long as no small claim is ever tried = very rare). But do check all the letters are just the usual drivel. 'Roxburghe' and 'Graham White' letters are what you can look forward to laughing at for a few months and they DO NOT affect your credit rating as long as you just get these:

Come on, thousands of people have been ignoring these fake PCNS for YEARS. Your only mistake was a wrongly-worded 'soft' POPLA appeal which was a shame but now you are simply back to square one like people always used to be before POPLA existed.
I have ignored 2 fake PCNs myself and laughed at them. Simply play snap with each letter and laugh at them, come on, this isn't a fine. Read the links.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
