In tears...LCP parking charge and subsequent POPLA appeal refused

  • Hey guys, I know this is Kirsty's thread but I've just found this thread on google and not sure how to use this! I received a parking fine from euro car parks because I paid by phone but unfortunately entered the wrong 'location number'. When I paid the location number was very unclear (I did not see it) and saw 'site reference number' so I thought it was the same thing just in different words. So anyway, I have received a fine now for £60 (reduced amount) but they say it will increase to £100 if I don't pay within 14 days. I appealed to Popla but they refused the appeal and basically said it's your own fault for not entering the correct location number which was clearly stated (when I parked there it definitely was not clear) so I'm presuming they must of changed the information boards. Should I also ignore them? I thought maybe POPLA would have accepted by appeal as I attempted to pay! If anything, they should be seeking the outstanding balance not parking for the whole bloody month! Any advice would be appreciated :)

Depends whether you're using the MSE new(ish) blue skin, or the original green one which most regulars tend to use. I'm not sure whether the green skin is available to those who have joined after a certain date.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

it is BLUE for me (and others) using the old "green skin" but it is RED for newbies , hence why I said RED

hope that explains it , blame MSE if unsure

If this was at Aldi, then get Aldi to cancel it of course, as you would if any contractor at a retailer tried to'charge' you a stupid amount of money for shopping. We assume you have already tried that in store as any shopper would? So what happened when you complained to the Head Office (or to the landowner, if not Aldi)?

    Start your OWN thread here:

If it was Aldi then you are likely to only get debt collector letters because it seems that PE do not proceed further and do not sue re Aldi cases. You must ignore those, as the 'NEWBIES PLEASE READ THESE FAQS FIRST' thread near the top tells you.

Only take seriously a Letter before Claim or actual claim from PE.
