My parents had trouble with lots of ants. Bought these bait stations http://www.homebase.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?langId=-1&storeId=20001&partNumber=333772

No more ants since they were used.

the ants take the poison back to the nest as food and it kills the entire nest.

The only thing I can suggest that I use, and its the best thing I have ever used, its called 'Ant stop' comes in a red trigger bottle, buy from supermarkets, garden centres, its heaps much better than the ant powder, plus you dont leave powder all over the place, its a spray liquid which dries in seconds, so you cant see it, nor can the little blighters, and thats where they come unstuck.
It leaves a film, and can last for months, the ants come on to it, take it back to the nest.
I used to be invaded every year, I couldnt cope with it they used to come mob handed but I found this stuff, and they only come once now to try thier luck, as soon as they get some of the Ant stuff I dont see them till the next year.
I swear, this for me has been a godsend.
I spray outside, by any air vents, along the door/step, against the wall, and specially by the back door step, and just inside the back door.

get some gel pads most supermarkets/diy stores sell them , you just break the seal put them where the ants are and the ants are attracted to it and take it back as food killing the entire nest.its not an instant cure so i would use powder also to deal with the immediate invason.

  • I have been told that talcum powder stops ants coming in, bit nicer smell and safer than the poisons. Not sure if it works, but maybe worth a try?
  • Oh my god, i thought it was just me with the problem, i've now been out and bought something called nippo powder so i'll give this a try.

Hiya all, It seems we like many other people have problems with Ants. Only in our case theres no sign of any nest? we've looked everywhere possable and can confirm there isn't an ant nest outside.
We have the unwelcome intruders everywhere, we have a two story house, they get everywhere, downstairs, upstairs, including the kitchen, living room, toilet/bathroom, their on the walls, ceilings, on shelfs you name their there.
BUT they aren't in large amounts, not 1,000s (yet) its just several ants coming from nowhere that seem lost!!
If there was 1,000s of them we'd find the nest and be able to tackle the problem, but there is no nest that we can find..... !!
