Agreed - this sort of buyer needs to removed from Ebay. This whole thread and the ridiculous feedback says far more about the buyer than the seller. I agree that using an alternative postage method is annoying, but the buyer received the item, and is happy with it, and does not want to return it. Yet the seller gets a negative, and this coupled with the low stars means they could lose their Ebay business and thus their livelihood. Ebay needs to sanction this buyer.

Give some people a bit of power - it tends to go to their head.

Op paid £8 for RM delivery.

Seller sent by courier; presumably far cheaper.

negative feedback for delivery charges entirely deserved IMO

Op paid for delivery seller made a profit on delivery as you have to.
Ebay brainwashes the few people who still bother use it into thinking anyone who charges more than the price of the stamps is a thief.
Ebay buyers end up paying more but are too thick to realise.

I take it you are a seller on ebay?

Can I ask if you would treat one of your customers in this way in the following situation

you stated RM delivery realised you may have under priced (or in this case you wish to make more profit on the you price quoted) so decide to use a carrier instead. would you just send? or would you contact customer first to let them know of the charge of contract?

The customer advises you (in polite and professorial manner - I do appreciate that not all ebayers may not communicate in this way but this one does) that they have been inconvenienced by your actions. Would you then call that customer 'silly' in a one line message back to them?

I am not asking what you would think, everyone is entitled to think what they like, thinking it is one thing but actually telling it to the customer is quite another.

Just be interested to get a view on how another seller would deal with this situation.

My only promise is to get the goods to the customer in one piece and in a timely manner, how I do it or how much money earn from shipping is no concern of theirs.

But how you do it is a concern of theirs if you send by a different method than you stated (As you have promised to send it by that method). If you choose the 'other' delivery option you have a valid point as this does not state a method so gives the seller the right to choose a delivery service as they see fit. I did ask it you would let the seller know first if you intended to change anything from your listing and if you would actually call a buyer 'silly' to their face?

The only issue is price and speed.

If you offer to ship something nextday for £5 all you need to do is get it there nextday, how you choose to do it is of no real concern to anyone.

Too many people needlessly moan about the irrelevent in an effort to get partial refunds off the few people brave enough to try to make a living flogging things off ebay.

The same people are then baffled and miffed by the lack of stuff for sale on ebay these days.

I have NEVER mentioned I was looking for a refund, just an acknowledgement that I was inconvenienced and an apology would have been all it took to defuse this situation.

And you still didn't respond to the question as a seller if you would call a buyer in a message 'silly' I am assuming from the lack of reply you would not.
