I wasn't searching for any answer. Not sure why you thought I was?0 -
Never ceases to amaze me what some people moan about, you buy something, pay for delivery, it gets delivered, but because the delivery van was a different colour that's an excuse to whinge?"Love you Dave Brooker! x"
"i sent a letter headded sales of god act 1979"0 -
What an obnoxious seller. I would have done the same as you in your situation.
Presumably ebay will contact you if they have genuinely told the seller he is in the right? I don't know though. I once had some (in my view perfectly justified) negative feedback that I had left, removed without any consultation with me.
In the past week both Yodel and myhermes have kindly left parcels for me "in a safe place". In both cases the "safe place" was the same - my front doorstep, in full view.0 -

I am very rural to the point of no neighbours, but our property is totally secure with electric code entry gates, so if we are out then there is no 'safe place' to leave.
if you're that posh just employ a gate-keeper...The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -

Agreed - this sort of buyer needs to removed from Ebay. This whole thread and the ridiculous feedback says far more about the buyer than the seller. I agree that using an alternative postage method is annoying, but the buyer received the item, and is happy with it, and does not want to return it. Yet the seller gets a negative, and this coupled with the low stars means they could lose their Ebay business and thus their livelihood. Ebay needs to sanction this buyer.0 -

A seller cannot lose their business through one poor feedback and stars. However if they make a habit of treating buyers like this then yes, their account is at risk.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How long would it have taken for the seller to send an email asking if the buyer had any objections? There are valid reasons for wanting a certain carrier and it is not up to anyone else to negate those reasons. Added to that the response was patronising, even if they felt it was silly, they were out of order to say that. That is not good customer service.
I changed my delivery method as mentioned earlier in the thread but I contacted all the buyers beforehand and asked if it was acceptable to them. I have just got 5* feedback from them. It took me a minute to do it, but it was clearly appreciated.0 -

apparently ebay have been informed of my feedback decision and they have the means to review our conversations regarding this. If ebay remove my feedback then I will accept that. However I feel I was justified in this case, it is not just the fact of the change of carrier without notice there is also the customer service I received. I appreciate they do not have a high opinion of me but they should keep that to themselves and still act in a professional manner. You admit yourself an alternative postage method is annoying and if the seller just apologised for my inconvenience then it would have been a different story.0 -

I pretty much guarentee that ebay will not remove the feedback,
personally I think a neg is a bit extreme, i would have left a neutral with somthing like "agreed royal mail but seller sent by courier, very inconvenient" and then gave low p & p stars.WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0
