If they are your children, and are of the age where you're still in charge, then I suggest you remove their privileges until they grow up a little...
Perhaps some parenting re: getting their priorities straight.0 -

I expect their grandparents will be too busy to send them cards or presents on their birthdays from now on.0 -

Well said.
It always amazes me that parents will bemoan the ways of their offspring but not be prepared to take charge of the situation.
That is not intended as a sleight against the OP as s/he may well already have the matter in hand and just be lamenting the need to force some action on their part. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

In fairness updating twitter or facebook literally takes seconds and is free. To send a birthday card takes a bit more effort (and money)
Its obviously not good they've not sent a card but its not really comparable with updating facebook/twitter.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Updating Facebook/Twitter = free
Sending card = £2 card and 60p postage
Updating Facebook/Twitter = seconds
Sending card = go to buy the card, write the card, go post it, possibly an hour in total (depending how far away shops are etc)
Updating Facebook/Twitter = Can do this in bed, at work, while eating
Sending card = must go to dedicated place
I'm not saying they have an excuse for not saying thank you but... apples and oranges.Hi. I'm a Board Guide on the Gaming, Consumer Rights, Ebay and Praise/Vent boards. Showing a bit of respect, love and acknowledgement for your Grandparents - priceless!0 -
£2 for a card, i get the 99p/£1.49 ones from the shops, they will only get recycled/binned after a few weeks. Takes minutes to choose 1 (I admit it cna be hard to choose 1 when the choice is poor) and less time to write it.0

Updating facebook and twitter 2/3 times a day 300+ days a year versus not sending a couple of cards to grandparents. Shame on all who are ATTEMPTING to defend it. They don't spend seconds on facebook or twitter.0
