So 4 cards/year is £16 and broadband is £90. Is the OP's broadband paid by their work? Apples and oranges has been mentioned but you are comparing lobster and s h i t e and largely talking the latter.Who brought charity working into it? Why?Get real, would you accept your son saying I'm too busy to do my homework/bathe/change my clothes/flush the toilet/wipe my ? No you'd guide them and make sure they sent a card to their grandparents

You seem very angry about this. I take it you've not received many cards :).

Although if you only buy 4 birthday cards a year you've obviously not got that many friends.

I'm frankly amazed at that ;)

Well they are all 30 plus, there are five of them, scattered over the globe. I usually remind them but this year I didn't so their 92 year old grandma (and great grandma) Didn't get a card from any of them or their kids!
Three of them came up with the too busy excuse and they are on those sites several times a day!
    Needed a vent!!

Yes that is bad form to forget, however I don't see any relation to not sending a card and spending time on Facebook.

They obviously couldn't be bothered to send a card and just said they were too busy.

I hope you have rightly called them bad seeds :)

Is that the best you've got? Even you with your limited intellect should easily be able pick that apart yourself. Maybe I'm over estimating your talents.

Interestingly I clicked on your username at 8:27pm and saw you were replying to my post. It's taken you 15 minutes to write that? And you criticise my intellect!

I'm 26 and it's only recently that I set up an email reminder service because I kept forgetting birthdays, in particular the USA ones.

Have a vent by all means but they are old enough to do as they please and you said yourself you forgot to remind them, perhaps the outcome would have been different if you had?

Of course they are old enough to remember themselves but if they are used to a hint from Mum near the birthdays...

Sorry, my daughter phoned me for a chat and she has priority over you....every day, every hour, every minute, every second and any subdivision of it at any time. You can wait everytime...I have no problem with that.

So I assume she gets one of the 4 cards you send. Who gets the other 3? Or is it 2 to the daughter (Xmas and birthday) and 2 to another lucky individual?

What they forget - and what my 40-cough-year-old brother forgets - is that 92 year old's don't live forever. But they do write wills. ;)

Not that I'm suggesting that I send my Nan birthday cards in the hope of one day benefiting from her passing. But she does think rather more kindly of me than she does him :D
